Agenda

Sebastian: Agenda bashing
... publishing minutes
... conference updates
... project linksmart
... continue press release discussions
... website discussions (no time probably)

Lagally: Prefer tackling press release first

Sebastian: expect 10 minutes for the first points
... anyhow let's reschedule

Press release

Sebastian: used one version but there seem to be different versions

<kaz> McCool's updated draft

McCool: Yes, did send out email
... PR changes bullet points to paragraphs

Sebastian: PR looks good
... expectation was Carolie looking at it

McCool: Coralie looks at it but suggest merging
... last PR von ML might have merge conflicts
... need to check

Lagally: I don't think we have merge issues

McCool: broke up opening text

Sebastian: Objections non to merge?
... >none<
... merging

Lagally: Picture is missing
... propose using statically

McCool: logo legend TD vs RDF

Lagally: Timeline?

Sebastian: no real timeline

Kaz: I'd say the earlier, the better. It effects the REC publication date.

McCool: I will try to change RDF logo in SVG

Lagally: Master logo is powerpoint

McCool: suggest using SVG as master

<mlagally_> https://cdn.statically.io/gh/w3c/wot-marketing/74afdb12/docs/pressrelease-wot-rec.html?env=dev

McCool: last "env=dev" points to latest version

<kaz> this

McCool: formating issue?

Lagally: I am sure marketing team will take care of that

McCool: Suggest looking at possible conflicts
... suggest taking ML's version
... will do path to re-do grammar fixes later again

Sebastian: Kaz, can you take the changes to Coralie?

Kaz: once we make a resolution on our changes (preferbly by the end of this call), I'll ask her to review the updated draft

McCool: Propose doing some clean-up first

Lagally: >walks us through some changes<

McCool: suggest adding word "eco-system"

Lagally: Copied in some text from workshop page

McCool: need to check whether some parts from my text is now redundant

Lagally: Suggest merging and do a path later on

Sebastian: Agree, let's merge and do another path

<mlagally_> https://cdn.statically.io/gh/w3c/wot-marketing/94486f01/docs/pressrelease-wot-rec.html

<kaz> updated link above

McCool: Yes, some text seems redundant now

>wording discussions<

Sebastian: Not sure about the figure. Miss a bit explanation

Lagally: Agree, but cannot explain all details

McCool: Simplifying boxes?
... e.g, call them WoT things

Lagally: servients ?

McCool: Need to explain what servients is

Sebastian: people will recognize figure from architecture document..

McCool: fine, but suggest changing legend
... and RDF logo is a bit distracting
... looks ok, but suggest clean-up first

Kaz: I thought we did have a simple(r) diagram from Matthias (and Johannes) about the narrow-waist concept

McCool: I like the current figure
... 2 high level figures might not be beneficial
... more than 1 figure?

Sebastian: No, we should not do that

McCool: Issue if someone picks figure out of context?

Lagally: We cannot prevent that
... but adding WoT logo in figure makes sense
... Approve the press release next week? Doable?

Sebastian: Not yet happy with entire text...

Lagally: Another PR?

Sebastian: Yes

McCool: grammar fixes hold off untile SK edited the text

Kaz: Press release timing: publication pending since we said we wanna have both at the same time

Lagally/McCool: REC version ready to publish?

Kaz: need to generate static HTML and need Director's approval for the transition

McCool: OK, press release next week sounds feasible

Sebastian: pending testimonials

Kaz: Yes. Japanese member companies will provide them by tomorrow
... we have 3 things to do: 1. press release text (working with Coralie), 2. testimonials (by Members), 3. Draft for REC

Lagally: When are we able to approve text? It looks we need some more cycles

McCool: Final draft ready for main call next week?

Lagally: Sounds like a plan

Sebastian: Need to look at changes/updates from today

Kaz: Could have another look in TD call

Lagally: Not sure I can join TD call. Suggest doing it offline

McCool: OK, let's wait for the changes of Sebastian

Kaz: main body should be published at the same time of the REC, but belated testimonials can be added later also
... suggest adding all the testimonials to Github like Sebastian did

McCool: might get quote from Jeff also
... Call with Jeff. What is good time?

Sebastian: Monday? travelling Tuesday to Friday
... next week should work

McCool: Will contact Jeff and make proposal

Previous minutes

Kaz: Before closing the call, could we approve old minutes?

<kaz> Feb-27 minutes

McCool: or do it offline
... approve minutes if there are no objections within next 30 minutes

(no objections)

<kaz> [adjourned]
