Quick updates

McCool: please register for TPAC
... and get hotel reserved
... other hotels are published at the website
... IOT World 2020 will be in San Diego

Sebastian: TPAC - what are the meeting days?
... TPAC - what are the WoT meeting days?

Kaz: Thursday+Friday

McCool: Wednesday a demo slot

<kaz> TPAC 2019 schedule

McCool: Monday night is a developer meetup

Lagally: More details on IOT Worlds 2020, please

<kaz> IoT World USA 2020

McCool: trade show, with IIC presence, we could consider participating in a sub-booth
... There's a workshop on W3C data models for transportation in Palo Alto the week before TPAC
... deadline is July 8th, perhaps somebody local can participate and present?
... Taki, are you local and could you represent WoT?

Taki: can discuss with my colleague

McCool: Eric Siow could also attend, but would prefer an additional attendant
... taki, can you please take ownership?
... taki, can you please take ownership and coordinate?
... contact BMW and Eric

Taki: yes

Sebastian: there's email discussion on rockstar etc.
... suggest to create a master slide set

McCool: this is not about rockstar, just presence at one workshop
... for this workshop you also may want a car use case

Sebastian: It would be good to have a reference presentation

Kaz: this is part of the proposed marketing initiative, and there is already some activity, e.g., the slides by McCool and Lagally

McCool: Sebastian, can you look into IoT world please?

Sebastian: this is a different conference - 2000$ for a pass
... we need a marketing plan
... let's discuss next week

Spec status

McCool: no news

Sebastian: security review at Siemens, some internal discussions wrt. id field
... perhaps not correct understanding of semantics of id field in PING

McCool: In security call we read PING minutes - concern is about privacy sensitive information, such as id
... but we don't define access mechanism or protection mechanism
... our response to them should indicate that we define a description of a device. Next charter will contain directories, where privacy is essential
... it is currently out of scope of the spec
... we have recommendations on privacy

Sebastian: we can look at what's out in the web, e.g. how web pages are protected

McCool: they need to give us a pass to move forward
... TAG feedback on security and privacy definitions
... I have PRs to remove security and privacy definitions

Lagally: I have a PR for Personally Identifiable Information, will discuss in tomorrows architecture call
... there are other things in the feedback we might consider

Kaz: I'll send yet another reminder to TAG and PING

Schedule extension

McCool: do we have an extension?

Kaz: talked with PLH on Monday and the consensus with him was to propose 6 months instead of 3 months to be safe.

McCool: I prefer not using the full 6 months, would like a PR transition proposal by end of July.

Kaz: right. we don't have to wait until the end of the extension but can move ahead earlier.

McCool: hope to get TAG feedback before vacation period. Let's wait until we hear back from W3M.

Lagally: so at the moment we can safely assume we have 3 months?

McCool: yes

Sebastian: for the moment we keep CR status?

Kaz: yes

McCool: we may have to republish the CR depending on TAG feedback - would prefer to avoid that

Other publications: Binding Templates

McCool: Ege to be added as a co-Editor

Sebastian: Koster is more involved in one DM activity, does not have too much time, asked for support
... asked for an additional active editor
... Ege is very familiar with the TD spec, ideal candidate

<McCool> proposal: to add Ege Korkan as co-editor of the WoT Binding Templates document.

RESOLUTION: To add Ege Korkan as co-editor of the WoT Binding Templates document.

Schedule

McCool: current schedule is outdated, need to update in next chair's call
... we should make sure that other WG documents are updated and consistent

<dape> DP: No scripting call this week (I got back from vacation and Zoltan is on vacation) --> no update

McCool: Security guidelines should be published now, probably updated within a month

scribenick: kaz:

Kaz: all the Editors, please think about how long you would take to solve all the remaining issues. we can think about TAG/PING issues separately.

scribenick: mlagally:

Workshop

Kaz: I'm working on the minutes, should be done by next meeting

TPAC demos

McCool: we need to figure out who is available and when

Kaz: there's a table at the F2F wiki, please put your attendance and preferred time

<kaz> demo prep preference table

McCool: please complete the table for your company

<kaz> (no plugfest call today; but we'll start the plugfest demo call next week)

scribenick: mlagally:

McCool: Next WG charter needs to be reviewed next week
... Joint Oracle + Smart Things proposals needs more discussion, propose to next week

Sebastian: is Smart Things, Michael Koster's company?
