... Also looking at AI as an issue, also looking for more resources in various areas.

<Judy> scribe: Judy

GK: with the accessibility checker for ePub, and the work in ACT TF to increase automation of tests
... people in the publishing field have asked for more AI support for automation

<George> GK: Would love to chat with you as well.

GK: ...to shift those tests. We are sniffing around for ways to resource that.

<scribe> scribe: George

impression of reactions to WCAG 2.1? are developers using it yet, or still assessing?

JB: Feel for the field, open ended question. Question, comments, with WCAG 2.1?

<Ryladog> I do have a point

upcoming publications & announcements

JB: any WAI WG publications and needing announcements?

MC: Graphics API probably ready to go out next week?
... Plans to send out a draft of a publication that is not very many are interested in.

JB: Interested in the pessimism that people might not care.

MC: Not aware of technologies.

Joanie: Three roles that would help support graphics capabilities.

JB: We do announcements because we are excited about the work.

We also want people to know about the important work we are doing.

While this is a limited set of roles, it will help us build towards other things.

TS: We had at AB a discussion about making a focus on recurting members for the SVG WG. It is important that SVG does not die, because it is important.

Joanie: I agree that it is a limited set of roles, but it helps us move forward.
... SVG is important for accessibility.

JB: The AB is recruting members for the SVG wg.
... SVG's capabalities for support of accessibility has been enhanced.

TS: Accross the board is the goal to gain popularity.

JB: If an explainer is being developed WAI would help to provide input.

Joanie: AccName and ARIA 1.2 are coming up for publication.

It would be good to check if there are people that are interested.

<Ryladog> I am

VR and AR in publishing is being discussed.

<Judy> [JB: notes George and Katie both also interested VR, GK where it intersects with publishing]

<tzviya> +1 to announcing on WAI IG

TS: XR is a big reason for Amazon joining the W3C.

JB: Workshop announcements go out to W3C channels. Pros or cons to these announcements?

We should announce any accessibility related things.

<Judy> ACTION: Judy announce W3C workshops that have any accessibility relevance, and-or coordinate with Katie to do so

<trackbot> Created ACTION-12 - Announce w3c workshops that have any accessibility relevance, and-or coordinate with katie to do so [on Judy Brewer - due 2018-09-19].

JS: People do not look at the home page that often, so announcements would be good.

[if prepared] APA's Community Group update, liaisons needed for...

Janina, how are you doing? Community group.

We were looking on something to focus on. Do you have a link?

<janina> https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/wiki/Community_Groups

Going to the link

The new groups are the ones we have added.

Some of these would be of interest and some concern me. Merging of Web and mobile and semantic data. Any of these can move towards that produce specs.

The ones you are uncertain about, are thy precursors, like use cases that could move to something bigger. If we are at the table to enlighten them about persons who will need to have their needs addressed.

<Ryladog> Charles McCathie Nevile may be involved in BlockChain as his new company is about Blockchain

We need names of people who can track.

<Ryladog> katie

<Ryladog> It wasme

I was just cut off from webx.

post if you get back on.

<Judy> [JB: The Webex call is open again now]

<Judy> [JB: Sorry for our teleconference service glitches.]

<Ryladog> I hear nothing

JB: We are back.
... Zoom is a possible option, that we can explore.
... Who are we missing.
... Zoom is an option we have been encouraged to use, but there is a cost option.

TS Everybody else has seemed todrop webx.

<tzviya> i wasn't recommending skype

<Ryladog> I amback on

JB: We can explore using Zoom, but noot through MIT.
... getting back to the agenda.

Community group and liasons? Where are they needed?

JS, quite a few don't have names attached to them.

APA tracking groups

<Ryladog> I have been following Credible Web

Block chain, ... we don't know where we have liaisons.

Math on web pages, for example does not have a formal liason. JS hopes Joanie is there representing us.

JB: The notes look raw, who can help fill in this lists.

<Ryladog> Web Payments should be me

JB: I am thinking of this as an actionable items.

Credible web?

<Ryladog> I am on Credible Web

TS: I have been loosley involved.

JS: Loosley is good enough.

<Ryladog> Katie is also loosley on Credible Web

<Ryladog> That should be me

Web payments and commerce?

<Ryladog> I d not know

JS: Web commerce is subsuming others?

<Ryladog> Web Commerce is replacing Web Payments IG

Katie is on credible web.

<Ryladog> That should be me

<Ryladog> but itis Web Commerce IG

TS and Katie can figure out who is the liaison.

<Ryladog> not CG

JB: Please send email to JS and MC on how to record a primary laison .
... EPUB 3 no liason? TS, GK, Avneesh.
... APA should clarify that one primary person is identified as assigned and recorded.

TS: Avneesh has been leading that accessibility TS.

GK: Avneesh has been tracking what what APA requires.

JS: Also APA may need to track what is needed, e.g. we would communicate in the other direction.

JB: We need to flesh out this area so it is clear who is there representing us.
... agenda scann..github accessibility issues. I want to make progress on this, but can defer for now.

Rechecking TPAC joint meetings, and CSUN meeting needs?

George to send a link to the math test book to JS.

JB: get your TPAC schedule lined up. Don't wait.
... CSUN rooms for differnet groups.

MC: Silver wants to meet b4 csun

<Ryladog> Michael, what days for Silver? Sat and Sun before CSUN?
