Agenda Overview; Announcements

Charter Renewal Update

Janina: We have one objection (JF). Does not break consensus. Will try to resolve this with John.

<janina> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-apa-admin/2018May/0008.html

Janina: John objects to having attribute prefixes in examples. But in the past 24 hours we have put a disclaimer in.

<janina> https://w3c.github.io/personalization-semantics/content/#examples-disclaimer

Janina: I will contact John and fathom if this could satisfy him.

Gottfried: I found no prefix in the normative text, only in the examples.

Janina: We removed the prefixes in the normative text.
... John would like to remove the examples from the doc.

Michael: John is objecting to these examples. Not offering to clean them up. We thought the examples are better than nothing for now.

Gottfried: This should not be made subject of the charter vote.
... Should be discussed in the pertaining group.

Janina: Either John will be satisfied with the disclaimer, or he will continue to object. If he keeps objecting, we will move forward and take note of his objection, according to the rules.

Michael: Objection is not to the deliverable. The chair could determine that this objection is not relevant.
... But good to talk to him anyway.

Janina: I will ask him for a telephone chat, with a cc to the admin.

Michael: Decision to be taken on Monday at latest.
... Then request management review to get it on their meeting agenda.
... Friday is better.

Janina: ETF asks to discuss with us about text-to-speech support for SSML.
... But maybe this should be something for the personalization tf.
... Probably better than starting another tf.

- Focusing the dialog instead of the first focusable element (if there are no auto-focusable elements): https://github.com/w3c/html/pull/1331

Michael: I have no technical opinion on this.

Janina: I tend to trust Steve on this.

Michael: Not good: we oppose good markup

- Adds autofill warning: https://github.com/w3c/html/pull/1372

Janina: Makes sense to me.

- Fixed discrepancies between the HTML and ARIA in HTML specs: https://github.com/w3c/html/pull/1133
