deborah, Michael started this, but we didn't touch table 1,
…, we didn't want to talk about this since we didn't work really on the first table in this group.
…, most of his issues were with the first table so we may want to just say, that this was the table that Michael gave us, and your comments are valid, but we didn't work specifically on that table and we worked primarily on the 2nd table.
charles, I assume, we haven't worked on this right??
mia, ummm ya no. we are still recovering from the aria-described at and this latest table to PF.
charles, I think deborah has to go through the note to find out everyone's action items are.
deborah, we didn't have great notes to reconstruct who should do what.
…, note should be tabled til after TPAC.
…, really depends on what PF wants us to do after TPAC.
mia, sounds good
charles, agrees.
markus, so we have logical reading order to the note?
deborah, no I don't think we did, and need to address this when we take the note back up.
george, I don't remember if we have decorative images and what should be done.
george, it is difficult for publishers to add alt text
deborah, we focused on WCAG but wasn't about content creation.
mia, there was a lot of discussion on that would be a UAG requirement etc.
deborah, we got derailed by PF requiring us to do extra things for describedAt.
george, refresh of 508 will impact WCAG AA and what is required for Digital Publishing.
deborah, my understanding 508 wasn't going to point to non specific specs
george, digital publications are clearly inscope for this refresh.
mia, we will want to participate in discussions on this, I know there was a lot of concerns with WCAG AA support which were not adequately addressed.
…, but I don't know what is exactly in the refresh, but I could take a look again with respect to DPUB.
george, but we need to be carful with our note and be mindful of the refresh.
charles, when is this refresh going to be finalized?
george, they must send to the federal registry and then sent out for public review before becoming finalized. So there is no set date.
george, are we going to have a public review of this Note?
deborah, do whatever Ivan wants us to do.
markus, yes there will be a public draft stage, but will need to do a refresh of this to get new eyes on this.
charles, yes once we are closer to finishing the spec.
george, you were on the call prev. call, with regards to a Plan B for external image descriptions now that ARIA-describedAt.
deborah, we need to go over what Charles / Tzvyia needs to talk about at TPAC
george, vocabulary for ARIA structural semantics
charles, was there anything we should talk about/to at TPAC
deborah, hallway conversation with WCAG/UAG/ATAG to give them a heads up about our A11Y DPUB Note
markus, how much more work is left on the Note?
charles, it will be tough to get this done in the next 2 months, but we will try.
deborah, unless we get derailed by PF
markus, yes understood.
markus, there is a rel attribute (a=href / rel=link to a description) but publishers would not want to be able to visually see this
…, plan B what do we do with epub and this is an interm solution.
…, but AT does not recognize REL, we will need ARIA to help out in this.
…, rel value registry
…, something should be there about long desc.
