Listbox pattern review of latest edits https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/practices/aria-practices.html#Listbox

BG: should we mention checked state?

MK: May create ambiguity around whether checked and selected are equivalent

AA: Under description, 3 rd para, there is an "is" that should be "as".

Birkir: the pattern suggest that tabindex may be 0 or greater.
... I do not like to encourage values greater 0.

AA: agree; let's delete that.

LW: I am a bit hesitant about the content advice WRT the length of listbox options and whether they should start with common strings.
... is it appropriate for the APG?
... do we want to go down the path of providing that kind of advice for every pattern and for all types of AT users.

AA: don't want to lose that? where should it go?

LW: probably in WCAG.

<LJWatson> ACTION: Léonie to reach out to Andrew and Joshue to ask about WCAG techniques to support guidance in the ARIA APG 1.1. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/06/15-aria-apg-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-1652 - Reach out to andrew and joshue to ask about wcag techniques to support guidance in the aria apg 1.1. [on Léonie Watson - due 2015-06-22].

AA: in last paragraph of description, change the numerals to words.

LW: under roles, it should say each option should have a "role of option"

<Ryladog> Please use the Techniques Submission Form to submit techniques.http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WCAG20/TECHS-SUBMIT/

AA: in type ahead, there is another number that should be a word.

birkir: kb interaction, 5th bullet, up and move should be changed to up and down arrow.
... home and end are missing for moving to beginning and end

mk: ctrl+a seems english-centric. Is that something we should address in a note?

AA: Will ask team in China what their equivalent is.

<scribe> ACTION: Ann to find out what Chinese equivalent to ctrl+a is to help guide how we may add a note about internationalization. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/06/15-aria-apg-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-1653 - Find out what chinese equivalent to ctrl+a is to help guide how we may add a note about internationalization. [on Ann Abbott - due 2015-06-22].

action-1653?

<trackbot> action-1653 -- Ann Abbott to Find out what chinese equivalent to ctrl+a is to help guide how we may add a note about internationalization. -- due 2015-06-22 -- OPEN

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/actions/1653

birkir: the order of items in the 2 selection models should be the same

mk: up and down arrow are missing from model 2.
... up/down should be the first bullet in model 2.

Autocomplete design pattern review http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices-1.1/#autocomplete

MK: Not sure I understand difference between combobox and autocomplete; both patterns mention an edit and a list.

bg: with combox there is an option for it to be readonly

AA: Isn't read-only combo basically a listbox?

<bgaraventa1979> http://whatsock.com/tsg/Coding%20Arena/ARIA%20Comboboxes/ARIA%20Comboboxes%20(Simulated,%20Readonly)/demo.htm

BG: does not have to be.

<bgaraventa1979> readonly combobox control with simulated active element container

MK: think autocomplete has its own pattern because it is valid in the aria spec to use the autocomplete property on a textbox.
... it is not clear what the difference is between autocomplete on a textbox and autocomplete on a combo means since inline is valid on both.
... Will raise discussion on public PF list.
