<scribe> scribe: MarkS
LW: related to longdesc
... had a conversation with Steve who recommended I ping Robin
who has taken this on. Think we should follow this one.
MS: I will take a closer look at
this. I thought this was something we already took care
of.
... thanks for bringing it to my attention
<scribe> ACTION: MarkS to follow up on https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=26059 [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/06/25-a11y-bugs-minutes.html#action01]

still zero bugs
LW: We now have officially cleared all HTML5 a11y related bugs
[cheers]
LW: these are the bugs that are
in limbo. the TF needs to reassess the value of these bugs and
decide if they need to be reopened or not, if so, add updated
information
... we haven't really looked at these yet

type table in 4.10.7 should indicate control type changes based on list attribute
http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/forms.html#the-input-element
<aardrian> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/html/master/forms.html#attr-input-type
MS: Wondering if we can address
this with just text rather than complicating this table with
another column just for this one use case.
... perhaps text, search, tel, url, email, and number can have
a reference to text that explains that the control type changes
to combo box if list attribute is included
... the note might fit nicely after the spec states that the
default is the Text state.
...would still need to add text to the table, which is only
referenced as a default value as text following the table.
LW: perhaps we should update the bug with a pointer to these minutes
<scribe> ACTION: MarkS to change the component to 5.1 and reference these minutes [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/06/25-a11y-bugs-minutes.html#action02]

Don't allow blank alt text on area elements
MS: We need a test case. Chaals said he would do that in MArch
LW: anyone want to take that on?
AR: I would like to read through this bug more closely before I take that on.
MS: We can ask for takers in the TF call tomorrow

VHA Comments on HTML5 Draft Specification
LW: Might be a good idea to put all of the individual bugs in the TF component and triage them individually
<scribe> ACTION: LWatson to update the component on all bugs referenced in https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13590 to TF Component [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/06/25-a11y-bugs-minutes.html#action04]

ARIA: select and option should allow role overrides of menu and menuitem
MS: might be something we want to squeeze into 5.0
LW: Let's bring this up on the
call tomorrow
... 13461 we are just waiting for progress on longdesc for this
one
https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23284
Accesskey should be translatable
MS: chaals is supposed to report on accesskey for consideration as a 5.1 action item
LW: we can just sit on this one then
https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13572
4.10.19 aborting autofocus based on user choice not optional
[discussion questioning if any browsers already do this and if not, seems moot. should see if UAAG recommends this feature in UAs]
MS: should we bring this up in the meeting tomorrow
https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13639
CSS2 System Colors Should Be Recognized
LW: lets leave this one with Janina for a bit longer
https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=16186
HTML 5 missing explicit directives for support full keyboard access (FKA) when navigating to a fragment identifier
LW: I will ping James on list to see if he can suggest spec text that would clear this issue up
https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13508
Fully support tri-state and indeterminate controls
AR: If the spec doesn't point to a mixed state solution using an aria, then this is an editorial change
LW: I will look more closely at this tomorrow and add comments
<scribe> ACTION: LWatson to look more closely at https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13508 and add comments [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2014/06/25-a11y-bugs-minutes.html#action05]
