MS: 3 new bugs this week. Two
were filed my the media TF on behalf of the TF based on
feedback we provided them on the EME spec
... the other is worth discussing

... the note that the commenter thinks should be applied to
placeholder label option (the one regarding the use of
placeholder attribute) does not seem to apply in the context of
placeholder label option on the select element.
AR: I don't think the placeholder text is unavailable once focus is brought to a select element where the placeholder label option has been invoked.
