Glossary Terms - Part 6 https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/55145/glossary6/results

some terms that were blocked by the conformance discussion actually are used in WCAG outside of the conformance section

Keep action-94 open and Andi will come back with another proposal next week

WCAG2ICT text for command line UIs https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/55145/CMD-Line/results

<greggvanderheiden> https://sites.google.com/site/wcag2ict/cross-cutting-issues-and-notes/command-line-interfaces

<David> +w

RESOLUTION: Accept Proposal # 6 for command line UIs

Updating of user agent definition https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/55145/20130423UA/results

Updating the "user agent" definition in the Key Terms section

RESOLUTION: Reject first two proposals on this survey as they are actually not needed

Clarifying the interpretation of "user agent" in WCAG INTENT when applied to software

<korn> +kinda

RESOLUTION: Tentatively accept the proposed new Note 5 as edited by Gregg in the survey pending final review via the mailing list

<korn> (our version of silly walks?)

Glossary Terms - Part 5 https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/55145/glossary5/results

programmatically determined

<Loic> https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/55145/glossary5/results#xq2

<Loic> determined by software from author-supplied data provided in a way that different software, including assistive technologies, can extract and present this information to users in different modalities

<Loic> The definition of "programmatically determined" applies to non-web ICT as is, replacing "user agents" with "software"

<korn> This applies directly as written, and as described in the WCAG 2.0 glossary, replacing “Web page” with “non-Web document or software”. With these substitutions, it would read:

<Loic> https://sites.google.com/site/wcag2ict/glossary-edits-post-2nd-public-draft

RESOLUTION: Accept guidance on "programmatically determined" as amended in the meeting

Just to clarify, here is the guidance agreed to in the previous resolution: This applies directly as written, and as described in the WCAG 2.0 glossary, replacing "user agents" with "software". With these substitutions, it would read:

programmatically set

<Loic> This applies directly as written, and as described in the WCAG 2.0 glossary, replacing "user agents" with "software". With these substitutions, it would read:

<Loic> programmatically set : set by software using methods that are supported by software, including assistive technologies

concern that we are moving away from the term "accessibility supported"

have to be careful not to lock this in to current techniques

Defer the "user agent" dependent definitions until we have closed on "accessibility supported"

RESOLUTION: re-open "programmatically determined" until we close on "accessibility supported"

input error

<Loic> https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/55145/glossary5/results#xq8

RESOLUTION: Accept proposal for "input error" as proposed: The definition of "input error" applies to non-web ICT as is, replacing "Web page" with "non-web document or software"

<korn> https://sites.google.com/site/wcag2ict/home/definitions-from-glossary/d---programmatically-determined

set of web pages

<korn> Janitor here: please see https://sites.google.com/site/wcag2ict/glossary-edits-post-2nd-public-draft for "input error" capture.

<greggvanderheiden> For those success criteria that use the term "set of web pages" explicitly or implicitly (2.4.1, 2.4.5, 3.2.3, and 3.2.4) WCAG2ICT provides specific replacement terms for "set of web pages".

RESOLUTION: Accept proposal for "set of web pages" as amended by Gregg: For those success criteria that use the term "set of web pages" explicitly or implicitly (2.4.1, 2.4.5, 3.2.3, and 3.2.4) WCAG2ICT provides specific replacement terms for "set of web pages".

<scribe> ACTION: Global edit to the document for how it refers to itself; i.e. WCAG2ICT or "this document", etc. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/04/26-wcag2ict-minutes.html#action01]

<greggvanderheiden> additional Guideance

<greggvanderheiden> This applies directly as written, and as described in the WCAG 2.0 glossary, with the following note added (and formally numbering the first note):

<greggvanderheiden> Note 2: For those success criteria that use the term "set of web pages" explicitly or implicitly (2.4.1, 2.4.5, 3.2.3, and 3.2.4) WCAG2ICT provides specific replacement terms for "set of web pages".

<greggvanderheiden> For those success criteria that use the term "web page", WCAG2ICT provides specific replacement terms for "web page".

RESOLUTION: Accept proposal for "web page" as amended by Gregg: For those success criteria that use the term "web page", WCAG2ICT provides specific replacement terms for "web page".

<korn> Example 2: A ribbon icon that saves the document that looks like an arrow pointing into a folder in one case, and an arrow pointing into a hard drive in another. In this as well case, they would have the same functionality but would not be labeled consistently.

RESOLUTION: Accept proposal for "same functionality" with additional software example: Example 2: A ribbon icon that saves the document that looks like an arrow pointing into a folder in one case, and an arrow pointing into a hard drive in another. In this as well case, they would have the same functionality but would not be labeled consistently.

Guidance on Principles and Guidelines

"In WCAG2ICT this principle/guideline serves the same purpose (framing and understanding) and applies as written. "

<greggvanderheiden> For guideline 3.2, the original is:

<greggvanderheiden> "Guideline 3.2 Predictable: Make Web pages appear and operate in predictable ways."

<greggvanderheiden> Applies as written replacing "web pages" by "documents or software" resulting in:

<greggvanderheiden> "Guideline 3.2 Predictable: Make documents or software appear and operate in predictable ways."

<greggvanderheiden> And for principle 4 and guideline 4.1 we could replace "user agents, including assistive technologies" by "accessibility services of software and assistive technology". The result would be:

<greggvanderheiden> Principle 4: Robust - Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of accessibility services of software and assistive technology.

<greggvanderheiden> Guideline 4.1 Compatible: Maximize compatibility with current and future accessibility services of software and assistive technology.
