sh: thanks to eveyone for the logistics

<Mario> Yes, thanks very much!!!

sh: feedback was good but we need to think about some cahnges

marko: apart from the first 2 speakers the rest of the webinar went quite well
... the length was ok
... it is difficult to follow the presentation and the slides
... interactivity is a problem
... the panel was good but we might need more time for questions

mario: I had problem with the 3 questions to connect them to the papers

giorgio: the purpose of the questions was to focus the questions on some topics... aparrently we couldn;t achieve that due to the technical problems and the interactivity

shadi: problems aside, when it started it went quite well...
... irc would allow interactivity but it would complicate people... I like the idea of not having presentations
... trying to find a solution about the audio strem

<Mario> A very good idea. But we have to have a microphone test before.

giorgio: adding another audio chanel only for output will limit interactivity

<giorgio> ok thanks

<Mario> What about using Teamspeak, it works better?

shadi: I'm thinking of audio + text strems from irc or twitter

<markel> I think that even worse than interactivity problems was the quality of some calls

giorgio: something it could help might be have a person to handle the microphone

sharper: Maybe he problem was that the presentations and the questions were quite quick

<Zakim> shawn, you wanted to ask about the handling of q&a

shawn: I am not sure if the technical problems was the main problem

shadi: nadia problem was local

mario: I think the logistics were not bad

<markel> + 1 Mario

mario: i think we have to ensure the audio quality of the speaker
... don't know how we can do it but maybe try it some days earlier

sharper: sound quality is dfficult to ensure...

<Mario> Skype has a strong number limit in conferences.

sharper: most of the opportunity for QA was in the end and some people could ahve been tired... forgot what they listened...
... the muting and unmuting wan not the main problem but

we could practice better

giorgio: I aggre on the quality
... a littli bit of practice ahead could help
... as for raising hand and muting.... shawn did a great job... but I couldn't follow so much information in parallel
... a suggestion for the next format could be to go directly to the panel after a short presentation of each presenter

<Zakim> shawn, you wanted to question landline costs versus travel and to say separate irc channels? and to say G did great!

giorgio: this way it could more intresting

<Mario> I find it is good idea, Giorgio.

shawn: giorgio, you did a great job at moderationg

<giorgio> too kind!

shawn: if we want to use irc we might need to use separate channel
... to separate the logistics from the chat

<markel> good point about the costs

shawn: one of the things about the cost... we are doing this instead of travel... so this might put it into different context

<Mario> W3 people, you could see, that the VOIP connection goes right!? - that about costs :-)

sharper: people in universties might have problems to convince about the need of this cost

shawn: I've put together a wiki page for the seminar mechanics

<sharper> action on sharper to update http://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/wiki/Seminar_Mechanics with email and irc minutes comments for the next symposium

<trackbot> Sorry, couldn't find user - on

<sharper> ACTION: sharper to update http://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/wiki/Seminar_Mechanics with email and irc minutes comments for the next symposium [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2011/12/08-rd-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-6 - Update http://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/wiki/Seminar_Mechanics with email and irc minutes comments for the next symposium [on Simon Harper - due 2011-12-15].

<Zakim> shadi, you wanted to talk about symposium wrap-up

<Zakim> shawn, you wanted to say http://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/wiki/Seminar_Mechanics and to say a suggestion for next step for this one: ask presenters to fill and correct transcript (e.g.,

shawn: an idea for wrap up could be to fill in the transcripts

shadi: I just recived the trascripts and I could forward it to presenters

<Mario> Please, circulate - I have not seen any transcript unfortunately.

shadi: I could use some help on that though

sharper: I think we can circulate the transcrit and teh merge them all together

giorgio: i agree with the idea of filling the transcripts

<Mario> I will send you also my script of the discussion.

<shawn> [ transcript should *not* be edited beyond clarification of what was said. that is, it should not contain any information not said (unless clearly indicated as an addition ]

sharper: we could publish some working notes
... before the trascript

<giorgio> i would suggst working on text only file

merkel: I could convert the notes from a word ot a html document

<shawn> [ Shawn supports publishing verbatium transcript as HTML ]

shaper: I could use a tool to make it into html and publish that as working note

<giorgio> +1 simon

<shawn> [ Shawn wonders if a truely edited and enhanced transcript becomes a "Meeting Record" or something - as ooppsed to a verbatium with the (inaudible, etc. left in)]

giorgio: I sent the notes to the list

<giorgio> very good idea, simon

giorgio: Our intention is to use the trascript to complete the outcomes note for the webinar

<markel> .q

<markel> -q

shawn: we could put it on the higher level W3C wiki in order to make it easier for colaboration

giorgio: If i was to do it I would send text files and merge them ... hopefully they will not change the same areas... and there will not be a conflict
... I think it would be easier..

markel: is it necesary... is the transcript so bad?

shaper: the first papers might have problems due to audio quality

markel: the problems are mainly on the presentations so we ha the slides too... the most important part though is the q&A
... if the gaps are in the presentations then maybe we don't need the corrections

mario: the most interesting thing is the quesitons so we need to look more on them

shaper: I think giorgio and markel should decide

<Peter> (Sorry I didn't have much to contribute. I'm amazed how well things went! For myself, conference calls even between 5-10 ppl can be a challenge.)

<sharper> +1 to that Peter

giorgio: I think that more inaudible parts were on the presentations
... we better continue with what we have and ask the presenter in case we have big gaps

<Peter> +1 schedule for next meetings

sharper: giorgio and markel can you give us about the w3c note

giorgio: we are thinkitng of presenting the main challenges and the contributions from the symposium
... especially regarding the panel questions
... we don;t have any timeframe for that

<shadi> http://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/2011/metrics/cfp.html

<giorgio> wonderful

sharper: timeframe should be 1 and 1 and a half month

but with christmas it should take longer

<Zakim> shawn, you wanted to say Shawn found this blog interesting http://martyncooper.wordpress.com/2011/12/06/web-accessibility-metrics/ (I listed it at the bottom of

<giorgio> I saw it too. thanks

<shadi> http://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/planning#seminar

shawn: I just put a link about the metrics and the symposium and it might be interesting for the note

<giorgio> how many and alsowho

markel: I wonder if we can have some statistics about attending the webinar

<markel> thank you Shadi.

shadi: I wasn't able to clean up the proceedings but I could try to see ... but I don;t think we can list them out

<Zakim> shadi, you wanted to confirm that papers will be linked
