bug 13258

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13258

AS: Cynthia just needs to review the Selection section for correctness and then pass on to David

CS: will do this today and ask Larry to look at it today

issue 466 https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/issues/466

CS: what happens if you put role="main" on a table?
... should the role remove the table semantics the same way role="presentation" would do
... and should it remove the mapping to the AAPI?
... FF treats the table as presentation, IE and Safari don't
... UAIG says not mapped
... want us to clarify in the UAIG what the expected behavior is
... need to talk with David and James - start an e-mail thread
... seems weird to remove semantic when don't have anything to replace it with
... most APIs don't have anything to map "main" to
... not sure if this is all FF implementations or just the Linux implementation

AS: are there other roles where this might be an issue?

CS: think it's for all the landmark roles, but might be for any role that doesn't have a direct API mapping

AS: section on conflicts between WAI-ARIA and native markup semantics is consistent with what is in the spec

CS: browser implementers are interpreting it differently so we need to clarify it in the UAIG. I'd like to discuss FF implementation with David. Will send a note to see if we can get together by phone this week.

ACTION-925 https://www.w3.org/2011/11/14-pf-minutes.html#item02

AS: discussed at November 14th ARIA TF call with James, David, and Sharon from the IE team

https://www.w3.org/2011/11/14-pf-minutes.html#item02

AS: Sharon had an action to see if IE raises system alerts on DOM changes

CS: need to get these three back together

Andi sent note requesting availability for next week's UAI TF call or, as 2nd choice, the ARIA TF call on Monday
