ID badge to enter the SRI campus:

Every visitor must have a badge to enter the SRI campus. We need information on your name and country/residence to prepare for the badges. Please let us know that using the registration page.

Note.

All visitors are required to enter at the "A" Building, the main visitor's entrance. They will be given a badge at that point by the person at the reception desk.
All the attendees of the workshop will need to be escorted by the host from the front lobby to the meeting room. They will also require escort back to the lobby when they leave for the day.

Meeting facilities:

The workshop organizer will provide the following facilities for the workshop discussion at the meeting room.

Video projector at the meeting room (the resolution is 1024x768)
Microphone and loud speaker
Internet access by Wi-Fi

Workshop schedule

The workshop program will run from 8:45 am to 5:30 pm on Thursday, 5 March and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, 6 March.

Airports to SRI

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest airport, but San Jose International Airport (SJC) is not very far. SRI Menlo Park is accessible via public transit.

By Caltrain (get off at the Menlo Park station):

Caltrain to SRI from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or San Jose International Airport (SJC): The closest drop-off point to SRI in Menlo Park is Caltrain's Menlo Park station, a few blocks from SRI. You can connect to Caltrain from either SFO or SJC.
- From SFO: BART connects SFO to Caltrain.
  1. At the airport, take the SFO AirTrain to the SFO BART station
  2. Then take BART north to its San Bruno station (please specify actual time of your visit using the form).
  3. From there, take BART south to its Millbrae station (please specify actual time of your visit using the form).
  4. Here, you can connect with Caltrain, going southbound to the Caltrain station in Menlo Park. There is no direct connection between the airport and Caltrain.
- From SJC: The VTA Airport Flyer makes frequent stops between the airport and the Santa Clara Caltrain station. Take Caltrain north to the Menlo Park station.
To SRI from the Caltrain station: Walk south along the tracks to the street. Turn left (east) onto Ravenswood Avenue. Walk two blocks through the traffic light at Laurel Street, continuing along Ravenswood Avenue. Walk approximately one long block past that traffic light to SRI's main visitor entrance— it will be the second driveway on your right. Look for the visitors' entrance sign next to the curved driveway. (You will pass part of SRI's campus along the way.)

Note. All visitors are required to enter at Building A, the main visitor's entrance.

By bus:

SAMtrans buses go to Caltrain's Menlo Park station, from which you can walk a few blocks to SRI.
VTA (Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority) bus route #22 stops at Caltrain's Menlo Park station, from which you can walk a few blocks to SRI.

By car:

For those who drive to SRI, there is ample visitor parking at SRI. Driving directions are available.

There are quite a few hotels, but no one is really nearby (closest is a mile's walk). Please directly contact the hotels to make your reservation by calling them or visiting their Web sites (numbers/URIs available below).

Note. You can request the SRI rate for your stay by letting them know you are an attendee of a workshop held at SRI.

ESTA procedure

All international visitors to the US will need either a VISA or "ESTA" approval obtained ahead-of-time over the Web as since 12 January 2009. People will not be allowed on the plane without one or the other.
