<vipul> ericP, do you know how to enter the agenda into IRC?
zakim will also: take up agendum n, next agendum, close agendum

<vipul> Hey Jyoti you made it!

start at http://esw.w3.org/topic/HCLS/ClinicalObservationsInteroperability
steve: BAB: Bridge Advisory
Board
... THC: architectural branch
... I'm participating in THC
[slide 3]
steve: sldie "BRIDG Content"
shows the sources of BRIDG and where the terms came from
... all of these apps have submitted their models to the
THC
... each of these models has vocabulary behind it
... BRIDG standardising these vocabularies
[slide 4]
steve: modelled as UML
... terms from HL7 datatypes
vipul: HL7 ciritisized for conflating acts with info
steve: we are trying to keep the
consistent with the app space
... e.g. we separate study from study results
... there is a mapping document (spreadsheet) that maps
imported models to BRIDG terms
[slide 5]
steve: defining semantics of classes and attributes, as well as terminology
vipul: i had heard that you would
bind to SNOMED and
... RxNorm (vocab for medications)
steve: we are binding at the CADSR level to the classes
[slide 6]
entities: blue, Roles: yellow, Participation: red
[slide 7]
steve: circle in the LR corner is where meds fit
[slide 8]
steve: e.g. labs would show up in PerformedObservations and PerformedObservationsResults
[slide 9]
[slide 10]
<vipul> BRIDG - SDTM mapping available at: http://esw.w3.org/topic/HCLS/ClinicalObservationsInteroperability?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=BRIDG+Release+1.1+Mapping+Document.xls
steve: column F shows the mapping
to BRIDG
... empty columns aren't mapped 'cause the didn't below in the
BRIDG model
[slide 11]
vipul: lossless mapping possible?
steve: we are expecting changes
on both sides to achieve that
... we are not expecting it on rev 1
Helen: what's a lossless mapping
vipul: roundtripping; don't map a Person to a GraduateStudent
steve: HL7 doesn't relate
participation to participation. BRIDG does
... BRIDG has evolved a lot over the last year
... expect it's somewhat more stable now
... BRIDG reports through the ARCRIM committee
[slide 13]
steve: ASPIRE and CRFQ are also working on eligibility criteria
vipul: would like to have a
prototype running
... we've scoped down to labs, meds and vitals
... probably too premature to present to them before we have a
prototype
... do these (ASPIRE, CRFQ) extend to pharma?
... e.g. they appear to only model an academic medical
institute
rachel: are mapping docs available?
vipul: posted above
steve: SDTM and other tabs show you the contributions to BRIDG
<vipul> q
eneumann: BRIDG site is mostly in
the language of using UML tools
... are there pages for the less UML-endowed?
... e.g. images
steve: not yet
vipul, scribe is off for 5 mins
<vipul> ACTION: Create UML views of the BRIDG models: Helen [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2008/04/01-hcls-minutes.html#action01]
<vipul> Open Source Tools... Omondo: http://www.eclipsedownload.com
<vipul> Eric: Stanford's project for mapping the BRIDG model into OWL
<vipul> Eric: Lead by Amar Das' group at Stanford
<vipul> Eric: should be available sometime this summer.
Helen: if you want to translate
from UML to OWL, there are fundamental differences
... e.g. is UML, X is a subClassOf Y, that is different from
rdfs:subClassOf
... in UML they are adding more attributes to that class
eneumann: Standford has a
axiomatic mapping of the BRIDG UML to OWL
... though they keep extra info as comments and annotations
steve: you can send Qs to me or Jyoti
vipul: over the long term, we
want to map HL7/RIM to OWL and BRIDG to OWL
... for now, we'd like to work on the demo
<Helen> Eric N, is there is a pointer you can share about the "UML-.OWL" mapping in stanford?
<vipul> display agenda
ericP: do we have contacts for ASPIRE and CRFQ?
rachel: i know some ASPIRE folks
eneumann: i met charlie mead only twice
vipul: we can contact these folks when we're ready
<vipul> show agenda
rachel: anything that Charlie Mead does will come into BRIDG
vipul: we'll have a small meeting with holger, rachel, jennifer, and anyone else interested
vipul: how well does ACGT model SDTM?
holger_stenzhor: we have a
student doing the work, but he's not a med professional
... current mappings are paper-only
... he developed his own mapping format in XML
... pointed me at a mapping engine being worked on in
madrid
... i don't have any real feedback from them
... that's all i know now
vipul: will the greek group be willing to share?
holger_stenzhor: i expect
so
... the mappings seem pretty straigh-forward
vipul: could they share a spreadsheet with us?
<holger_stenzhor1> http://wiki.healthgrid.org/index.php/ACGT:TOP_CRF_database/Pretreatment_histopathological_tumour_type
holger_stenzhor1: i can ask those guys if they can give us a small introduction
