It is not clear from the success criteria that greyed-out inactive element would pass 1.3.2.

Proposed Change:

Add simple example that grey-out inactive elements are visually distinguishable from normal active elements.; Related issues: (space separated ids); WG Notes: [TEAMC] [] [Oct 9; Becky] Add an example about disabled elements being greyed out by the user agent and do not receive focus. Discussed in the 19 October 2006 telecon: resolution: accept LC-717 with edits http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/2006/10/19-wai-wcag-minutes.html DONE Disabled Form elements: Form elements which are disabled via markup or scripting, are greyed out and made inactive by the user agent. When in the disabled state these elements do not receive focus. Assistive technologies can programmatically determine the state of disabled elements and will provide this information to the user as the elements are encountered on the page. The change in color and loss of focus provides redundant, visual information about the state of the control.
