Why are the XPath expressions given in examples XML escaped (with &lt;
for example) tough in XPath 1.0 specification the examples are not
escaped ?
I find it less readable and useless.

WG Notes: After a couple of rounds of discussion, it became clear that this comment was only against the XPath functions document. The misunderstanding was my fault (Rhys) and was colored by the earlier comment Harold-2, which was more general and which we rejected as escaping is a requirement for XML. The comment is appropriate against the XPath functions document since there is no need to assume XML syntax. The disposition was changed to reflect its acceptance.

Resolution: Remove the escaping in the examples in the XPath functions document and add a paragraph of explanation to the section on Documentation Conventions. Also add pointers to the DISelect specification and the primer for sources of examples of usage within DISelect.
