### The Call for Papers closed on Monday January 29, 1996 ###
The objective of the Conference is to provide an effective and
established forum for discussion and dissemination of original
and recent advances in W3 technology. Its aim is to
allow leading edge researchers and developers in a wide variety
of areas concerned with W3 technology and applications to present their results.

Scope of conference
The primary focus of the conference is on new original research
results and on innovative technology related to the World Wide Web.
We solicit the submission of papers that address novel, challenging and innovative ideas,
concepts or systems, reports on real uses with concrete and
quantitative results.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas
as they relate to WWW:
- Protocol evolution and extensions
- Tools and Browsers
- Authoring Environments
- Retrieval and Resource Discovery
- Information Representation & Modeling
- Consistency, Integrity and Security
- User & Application Interfaces
- Virtual Reality
- Integration of Real Time Channels
- Design techniques for Web Applications
- Kiosk Systems
- Computer Based Training and Teaching
- Commercial Use
- Charging and payment systems
- New Applications
Paper Submission-Guidelines
In order to submit a paper, please immediately fill out the
online form indicating intent to submit. The details on
how to proceed (including ftp sites) will be sent to you upon receipt of the form.
Once you receive these instructions and upload your submission,
you will be sent a confirmation that your paper has been properly submitted and a
copyright notice that you must sign and
mail back to the committee.
Authors are invited to submit complete and original papers. Papers
that may be submitted for consideration include those that have not
previously been published in another forum, or are not currently
being
published or reviewed by another journal or conference. All submitted
papers will be refered for relevance, originality, correctness and quality.
The technical program committee reserves the right to accept a
submission as either a paper or poster presentation and the committee
may invite panel participation from submitters of papers accepted or
not. Of particular interest are papers articulating technical innovation
on the foregoing topics. As a guideline, a nominal length for papers is 10 pages single-spaced.
All accepted papers will be published in the
conference proceedings. In addition, special issues of journals
containing outstanding papers from the conference are planned.
Papers intended for publication on the Conference Server and in the
Paper-Proceedings shall be submitted by ftp in the following format:
- Syntactically correct HTML 2.0 (for conference server and for
creation of printed proceedings).
To make the Proceedings more attractive, it is important that
submitted papers follow the Guidelines as closely as possible. The
Editors cannot retype contributions for publication. However, minor
deviations from the guidelines may be accepted from authors who lack
the necessary resources.
- Only full paper submissions will be accepted.
- A cover sheet should accompany every submission. It shall
contain:
- Type of Presentation: Technical Paper or State-of-the-Art
Report. A State-of-the-Art Report is a survey of an aspect
of Web technology, usually presented by a recognized person or team working in that technology.
- Assignment to conference topics (select topics only out of
the above list). If you list more than one, the one listed first will
be taken as the primary one. If nothing applies please use OTHER and
an additional keyword.
- The title of the Technical Paper / State of the Art Report
- Name and postal address, phone, fax, email address of the
author(s). In case of co-authors the first listed will be used as the
contact address for future communication. (Note: The order of the
authors may be different in the paper.)
- List of keywords (as on title page)
- Name of tar (.Z) or gzip (.gz) file
The cover sheet is required for the reviewing process only. It should
be HTML only, no formatting other than numbering and paragraphs. This
page will not be published.
