*** Working Group Decision on ISSUE-183 sub-issue: time syntax ***

Since we have not received any objections to the CfC on the <time> syntax (see below), the <time> syntax changes proposed for ISSUE-183 are adopted and this sub-issue is considered resolved. The remaining parts of the ISSUE-183 change proposals will now be moved to the next stage of resolution as per the HMTL WG Decision Policy.

In reviewing the two Change Proposals for ISSUE-183:

http://www.w3.org/wiki/User:Tantekelik/time_element
http://www.w3.org/wiki/User:Cjones/ISSUE-183

The Chairs found that both of these proposals are asking for the same changes to the <time> syntax, and these changes are in fact already in the spec. It seems the only remaining point of dispute is whether there should be a distinct <time> element, or a type attribute for the <data> element.

To simplify processing of this issue, and save the Change Proposal authors the need to refine details or rationale for these changes, at this time we'd like to check consensus on only the time syntax aspects of the two change proposals.

Silence will be taken as assent, but actively stating agreement is welcome and encouraged. If you object to adopting these changes, please do so before February 29th, 2012. If there are no objections, we will assume this sub-issue is settled and proceed to working through the remaining point of dispute.

Regards,
Maciej
