Transforms 1.0 - 'transform-origin'

Hello public-fx, Anthony Grasso,

this is a comment about
http://dev.w3.org/Graphics-FX/modules/2D-transforms/spec/2DTransforms.html
(from today)

Doesn't create the transform-origin a big backwards incompatiblity for SVG due
to the initial value of 50% 50%?
Because this does not exist currently for SVG, I think it defaults effectively
to 0.
And because it is indicated to not inherit, this means finally adding always
this property with a value '0 0' to get the same result as for SVG 1.1 and SVG
tiny 1.2?
This 50% 50% might be useful for a block-level element from CSS/XHTML
for example, but for SVG content, ususally one does not want to have a
hardly to predict shift from 50% (from what exactly?)

What is exactly the element's box - the bounding box? - what is it for a g
element? Maybe only a zero dimensional point?
Would be nice to have an explanation for the resulting effects of the keywords
for example for a g element containing other animated container or graphical
elements. Or is the size of such elements without an individual viewport
automatically assumed to be zero, so that 50% 50% is indeed the same as 0?
