I'd like to expand the collection pattern to include elements
included by reference as well as locally defined elements as
at present, e.g.:

  <xs:complexType name="MyComplexType">    
    <xs:sequence>
      <xs:element name="localElement" type="foo" minOccurs=" ....
      <xs:element ref="tns:globalElement" minOccurs=" .... 
    </xs:sequence>  
  </xs:complexType>
