Looks good to me, thanks Dave!

Hi Guys,
First, thanks Pablo for this revised example. I reworked the explanatory text a bit in the attached word file (using revision marks) to make it a bit more terse, but the actual code seems fine as it is.

If one of the editors could add this to the draft, then we just need to see if Chase and Kevin are happy with this to close ISSUE-70.

So Chase, Kevin, just to clarify, we've update the explanation of precedence at:
  <http://www.w3.org/International/multilingualweb/lt/drafts/its20/its20.html#selection-precedence> http://www.w3.org/International/multilingualweb/lt/drafts/its20/its20 <http://www.w3.org/International/multilingualweb/lt/drafts/its20/its20.html#selection-precedence> .html#selection-precedence
and at:
http://www.w3.org/International/multilingualweb/lt/drafts/its20/its20.html#html5-selection-precedence
as well as adding this attached revision to example 30 in section 8.1
http://www.w3.org/International/multilingualweb/lt/drafts/its20/its20.html#datacategories-defaults-etc

As David Filip mentioned to you in:
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-multilingualweb-lt/2013Mar/0189.html
if you can indicate whether this satisfies you comment or not that would be a real help. If we don't hear back from you by the 9th April, we'll assume you are happy with this response. Many thanks for this important comment.

Kind Regards,
Dave

Hi Felix, Yves, all,

As promised, I reworked the example 30. I send attached the description on a docx and the XML file, please check whether it needs improvements or not. I hope it is not too tangled.

Besides I checked sections 5.5 and 6.4 and in my opinion along with examples 23 and 8 they clarify things a lot.

Cheers,
Pablo.

Ok then, next Tuesday I'll deliver it!

Cheers,
Pablo.

Hi Felix,

Yes, it looks good and it's very clear to me.

I can do the rework of the example and the description if it's ok with you. Next Tuesday is fine or do you need it earlier?

Sure, take your time - thanks in advance, Pablo.

Best,

Felix

Cheers,
Pablo.

+1 Yes that would help too!

Cheers,

Maybe re-working the example that illustrate the different overrides would help too.

I don't think the one we have covers some of the cases where people get confused.

Hi Felix, all,

Seems ok for me, but wouldn't it be clearer to explicitly say that inheritance takes precedence over default values, I'm saying this because more than once programmers asked me the same question.

Cheers,
Pablo.
Hi all,

I tried to implement the resolution for issue-70, see my overdue
action item. But I failed in finding the correct text, since there
was a thread on this after the f2f, see
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-multilingualweb-lt/2013Feb
/
0247.html

What is the latest thinking on this?

As a proposal I have made changes to the sections 5.5
http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/WD-its20-20121206/#selection-precedence
and 6.4
http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/WD-its20-20121206/#html5-selection-preceden
c
e

This would close issue-70.

Best,

Felix
