Work on this document has been discontinued and it should not be referenced or used as a basis for implementation. Important content has been moved to the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices.

This is a Working Draft by the Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) Working Group of the Web Accessibility Initiative. This version has been published in order to "retire" the document. It was originally developed by the Protocols and Formats Working Group (PFWG) to provide introductory information in support of the Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) technology. The PFWG did not finalize the document, and absorbed important content into the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices. To avoid conflicts with updated advice, this document is published with empty content in order to direct readers to newer resources.

To comment on this or other WAI-ARIA documents, send email to public-aria@w3.org (comment archive) or file an issue in the W3C ARIA GitHub repository.

Publication as a Working Draft does not imply endorsement by the W3C Membership. This is a draft document and may be updated, replaced or obsoleted by other documents at any time. It is inappropriate to cite this document as other than work in progress.

This document was produced by a group operating under the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy.
