Description Vladislav Ivanishtshev 2008-12-03 12:31:39 UTC
When loading file from www.example.com:2077/file.xml amaya shows code (text mode is on). Reload does not help.
My solution is to open another file (like file2.xml) and then go back to the file.xml.

Hi,
I cannot connect to www.example.com:2077/file.xml (nor www.example.com)
Can you send these files in attachment so that we can test.

Thanks

Not sure I understand your bug report.
The text edit mode concerns only the behavior of the editor when the user hits Backspace and Enter keys.
In the formatted view, Amaya displays only character strings if you don't provide a CSS style sheet.
But you can the structure view or the source view to edit (see menu entry Views > Show structure and Views > Show source).

Amaya shows text

Now you may see, that opening xml document with properly formed header Amaya shows text (code). Neither structure view nor source view are available.
Reload does not help.
After switching to another document the given one may open in normal view, i.e. I have to open file1.xml, then in the same window file2.xml, then go back or open file1.xml once again.

Could you check the "document type" of the document in View>Document info?

Mime-type:text/plain

Heading is this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="application/xhtml+xml; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>blackboard</title>
<meta name="generator" content="Amaya, see http://www.w3.org/Amaya/" />

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That explains why the document is displayed as a simple text file. Your server requires to not manage that document as html or xml.
