Description Michael Kay 2006-12-09 00:05:05 UTC
In the Microsoft DataTypes tests, test dtZ107447_a_2245, the schema ../msData/datatypes/test107447_a.xsd is claimed to be valid. However, it contains an element of type xs:ID with a fixed value. This violates clause 5 of Schema Component Constraint: Element Declaration Properties Correct.

This test should indeed be invalid. This is due a bug in the packaging process of Microsoft schema tests.

This issue has come up again in the following testcase:

msData/identityConstraint/idZ011.xsd

Agreed that these schemas are invalid in 1.0 and should be marked as such.

Note that XML Schema 1.1 removes this paternalistic rule, so these schemas will [presumably] become valid.
