Interoperability with current practice in US captioning has been expressed as a desirable goal, however CEA 708 can specify region borders, but DFXP cannot directly express this.

Additionally support border on content elements. At present, only defined single tts:border attribute which is shorthand for specifying all borders at once. If it is desired to specify distinct width, style or color in the four border edges, then we need to also add tts:borderWidth, tts:borderStyle, and tts:borderColor attributes.
