managing x-role extensions
- State:
- CLOSED
- Product:
- TTML 1.0
- Raised by:
- Sean Hayes
- Opened on:
- 2012-03-12
- Description:
- The TTML specification allows vendors or other interested parties to specify private role names using an x- prefix. Given the recent debate over vendor prefixes in CSS, it would probably be a good idea to revisit this concept and potentially allow a single extension registry (e.g. a W3C wiki) that provides a lightweight mechanism for users to coin new roles, share previously defined ones, and promote interoperability.
