I fully agree, and I also agree whit Roberto and Gez.
In my opinion, the promotion of code validity is also a good thing for
educational purpose, for example to awaken Content editors to Specifications
and Standards Harmonization, which is Essential to Web Accessibility.

I am comfortable making the argument that the promotion of validity as a top
level criteria is the single most important change between WCAG1 and WCAG2.
I honestly think it would better that WCAG2 be killed than going forward
without it.  It is the difference between importance and mediocrity.
