janina: there's been a fair bit of followup with media interest group. The EU standards are moving forwards but failed to cover some areas. We expect a report from them we can review about accessibility gotchas

Paul: full pauses, empty pauses, in general silence can be highly significant, for emphasis or allowing processing
… another example is the case of a "hide and seek" countdown from ten to one, where the last three numbers are counted off at a much faster rate
… a timing that is interpreted as unfair
