1.8.7 Customize Viewport Highlighting

difficult to jump between frames, very little indication of a viewport being focused.

http://www.yourhtmlsource.com/examples/frameset1.html

only firefox highlight frames. no one highlights iframes, no one can change highlighting or border for viewport highlighting.

f6 moves between address bar and main viewport in all.

AT RISK

1.8.8 Allow Viewport Resize:

perhaps Stylish can override resize(attrib) in css?

<Greg> A textarea with an author-specified height and width is still resizable in Firefox:

<Greg> <textarea style="width: 178px; height: 108px;" id="text_area" name="textarea" rows="5" cols="20"></textarea>

html test page https://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/www/testel.html

NO keyboard control for resizing.

cannot resize viewports with speech. very difficult

menu commands for windows, no commands for internal elements

speech - excel has keyboard commands to resize columns and rows.

html - textarea and video element can change with mouse but not keyboard (frames)

for iframes - stylish may work to add resize(attrib) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8117761/how-can-i-make-an-iframe-resizable

but...still no keyboard control.

@@ this is a failure of 2.1.1

summary: 1.8.8 is doable for textarea, video players, frames, and iframes with the mouse. may need the addition of Stylish to add resizability. FF, Safari, Chrome. none have functionality from the keyboard. IE8 does not resize textarea.

1.8.9 Provide Viewport History

http://www.tsbvi.edu/2015-08-25-19-42-57/request-infant?view=form

ff maintains point of regard, not maintain form content (using forward and back button)

safari does not restore anything. v8.0.7

ie maintains point of regard and form content and input focus

ff maintains point of regard and form content and input focus

chrome maintains point of regard and form content but not input focus

change - safari maintains point of regard and form content and input focus

all tested on https://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/www/testel.html (plain and simple html)

ff is the only browser to maintain selection highlighting

1.8.10 Allow Top-Level Viewport Open on Request:

all browsers have a configuration setting for blocking popup window

1.8.11 Allow Top-Level Viewport Focus Control:

ff Open new windows in a new tab instead and When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately

safari, IE, chrome, no focus control.

need to create a test page to popup a window.

http://rip747.github.io/popupwindow/

http://www.textfixer.com/html/javascript-pop-up-window.php

1.8.12 Allow Same User Interface:

no browser does this. there are no extensions

there is some issues. greg with ff on http://rip747.github.io/popupwindow/ all open in a new tab with same interface. jim cannot make that happen in his FF.
