charles, had a great meeting with Jeanne Spellman, who gave us great insight on how to do our note.

deborah, Jeanne mentioned the idea that make it clear in our note, where changes we may need, either a new spec or additional information… Do not specify which group needs to do that work.

…, draft the first version of footnotes/author notes

…, involves personalization, jump back to where you were. Some of it is UA, some is content

…, some are complicated some are really simple (but notes are really complicated), DropCap is simple to explain but we need outreach.

…, start as a draft and then get comments from everyone.

<tzviya> https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/aria/dpub.html

tzviya, footnote discussions for DPUB.

deborah, hoping to give Footnotes to Tzyvia to deal with :)

…, content creators need to adopt this, and UA needs to support it.

tzviya, hopes this will become a working draft.

Aria 1.1 describedAt

tzviya, took over a year just to get AltText into their publications, so …

deborah, publishers are worried about this since there is no browsers that support this.

tzviya, publishers are just getting to embrace a11y and are just getting up to speed on this but can't commit to the timeline.

<tzviya> https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=18385

deborah, we may be able to do a proof of concept but can't commit, charles agrees that Benetech could also do a POC in Bookshare

…, we need to tell publishers what they need to be doing for A11Y

…, but that being said we know how publishers work and this will be a hard sell

…, we need tell them to use this new tool describedAt to implement this A11Y for anything not just images.

tzviya, we need to write up a description the differences between longdesc, describedBy, and describedAt

tzviya, we are just getting publishers to deal with A11Y, so now is not the time to cut describedAt

<tzviya> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2014Aug/0028.html

deborah, will write up a draft of the differences between LD/DBy/DAt and send them to our group before Mondays meeting

tzviya, we have a BISG meeting on tuesday, we will need to give an update

deborah, we can tell them we are continuing to work on our note

charles, we should also inform them about this ARIA describedAt issue and give them a recap of the results from Mondays meeting on this topic

tzviya, we can also tell them about the WAI-ARIA DPUB Module that we hope to be publishing soon
