<Vivienne> http://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/2013/user-modeling/note/ED-UM4A

Vivienne and mark discuss status of User Modelling. Mostly editorial work.

dsloan: suggest query editors of each of report to get status of where the work stands. What is needed to reach completion, required effort, level of commitment.
... Text Customization report is in Wiki format, not the final document format. Note would add section to cover areas not addressed in the symposium papers. Not in a position to provide estimate, yet.

vivienne: brief summary and highlighting of gaps where research is needed.

dsloan: goal is not an exhaustive lit review

sharper: two types of editing: those who have not completed editing, and those who have had multiple drafts... felt they conform, but feel goal posts have changed. Metrics authors feel it is out of date and not worth publishing at this point.

<Zakim> shadi, you wanted to speak about expected criteria and metrics note

shadi: agree with Simon. Never made the goal posts clear, such as quality, writing style. Should work on criteria as to what is expected. What should be in the notes.
... Disagree with Simon on the metrics . Actually important work on defining quality criteria for metrics. Not provided anywhere else, and report is being referenced in some EU work. Would like to see it finished sooner rather than later.

<sloandr> Do we have a formal record of each unpublished Note, and the editors? i.e. a quantification of the issue we're dealing with?

vivienne: Most recent symposium on Wayfinding awaiting work. Recommend that we use the simplified note model for this one. Summary of what was discussed.

mhakkinen: How do we reconcile the views Metrics note?

shadi: have a clear write up on the specific issues and propose edits to resolve the issues to the group. We can then finalize.
... on the Easy to Read note, the comments are on the language/editorial. Not controversial. Overly complex language. Editors are not able to take it further. Comes back to the issue, what is it we expect for the note. Highlights a need for guidelines for writing style.
... regarding metrics, a proposal to the group, via survey.

vivienne: action then to take the proposal to the group.
