for publishing a Note we should be using the HTML framework that the W3C uses in github.

go to Ivan for questions.

deliverables?

DPUB what we want to accomplish, same for BISG what they want to accomplish

and what is the timeframe.

What does DPUB think is the goal.

George wrote that baseline document that could be the starting off point.

it may tie to WCAG and then back to the document.

george, Robin wants to update the top tips document and align with the baseline document

… baseline in education is different than trade.

tzviya, toptips is epub specific

george, we don't want to contradict eachother

tzviya, documentation ARIA / HTML for coding of HTML there is a difference between epub vs web

…, how can we work with BISG

deborah, two big items. 1) Note to W3C, 2) Collaboration with BISG.

tzviya, BISG educate content creators for implementation

deborah, BISG WAI guidline experts

…, stress: our task force has 2 sets of audiences: 1: Note to W3C guideline creators, BISG content creators.

george, people working outside of epub should be able to use what BISG produces. If you apply what DPUB produces there should be harmony between what BISG produces.

HTML document producer should be applying the same criteria as the Quickstart guide.

deborah, back to BISG / DPUB meeting. what can we bring to the table

…, easies thing to talk about is epub, as far as epub the right thing to say is here is the links to existing tutorials etc.

…, what is digital publishing when it isn't epub?

tzviya, epubweb - DPUB technical consultants?

tzviya, maybe future of this TF for epubweb where documents could be exploded, and how to navigate them.

tzviya, epubweb is a concept at this point.

…, epub 3.1 is beginning

george, start looking at epubweb and start looking at what we need to address for the future

tzviya, f2f meeting packaging, identification of elements.

…, agenda for f2f, this TF eye to the future

…, BISG coming out with best practices, and our job would be to see if it matches with what the future

tzviya, BISG writes the documents, and DPUB/A11Y reviews the documents and offers comments

george, potential conflict. Image longdesc (A) rec in WCAG easy to understand but hard to do, could cause problems.

george, in our document we can say what best practices are for specific issues.

…, (A) use alt text, and if its too long then it should be longdesc to describe the image completely

deborah, WCAG and BISG align but not perfectly and DPUB's job would be to smooth that out…

…, what is our job of DPUB A11Y TF with regards to BISG…

tzviya, once this note is published (existing spec, what is missing) what publishers need is where we can collaborate with BISG

…., roll of this IG will shift when we recharter this IG.

george, we exist to make sure the a11y features / functions are in epubweb

tzviya, daisy has a lot for a11y (eg. skip ability)

…, navigation on web (using nav element) proper reading order is not easy

…, as this note gets published, we need to reach out to Julie BISG

…, web must have at least the same amount of a11y as we had from Daisy for example

george, there will be new technologies that will need a11y.

tzviya, Mark H. is doing a lot with web components for assessments

deborah, our goal is liaison between BISG and w3c, if BISG has request for W3C for a11y needs, and convey information about new things (both directions)

george, epubweb future of a11y is the focus of this A11Y TF.

…, draw on what has been done before, and encourage invations

deborah, action item:

tyzvia reah out to Julie and Robin to firm up the agenda for our F2F meeting.

Mia L. was also in attendance

:)
