These are working notes for a potential requirement for SHACL. The requirement would be that validation is an operation that is performed over an RDF dataset, rather than the more obvious approach of operating over a single RDF graph only.

Use cases

  • Mailing list thread asking for use cases
    • Arthur and Karen mention use cases where the result of dereferencing URIs factors into validation
    • Holger mentions a user story where validation depends on information in a separate specific named graph
