<clown> Topic; issue-629

<clown> issue-629?

<trackbot> issue-629 -- Unable to test ie11 as inconsistent with menu event mapping table due to lack of support of msaa column -- open

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/issues/629

<clown> scribenick: davidb

CS: needs to check a11y events on IE 11

RS: could not receive old MSAA focus events on windows 7

Issue-398

<clown> issue-398?

<trackbot> issue-398 -- Errata: aria-setsize and aria-posinset should apply to more than just listitem and option -- open

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/issues/398

<clown> action-1293?

<trackbot> action-1293 -- James Craig to Add aria-colindex to role gridcell and aria-rowindex to role row -- due 2013-11-11 -- OPEN

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/actions/1293

<clown> http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-implementation/#mapping_state-property_table

<clown> http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-implementation/#mapping_state-property_table

<clown> action-1293?

<trackbot> action-1293 -- James Craig to Add aria-colindex to role gridcell and aria-rowindex to role row -- due 2013-11-11 -- OPEN

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/actions/1293

DB: this is for aria 1.1

JS: this came about from a request to add posinset and setsize to more roles
... when it came to grid the thought was to add Add aria-colindex to role gridcell and aria-rowindex to role row

<clown> MSAA+UIA Express: Expose as posinset=<value> in AriaProperties.

<clown> IA2: Expose as object attribute posinset:<value> and in groupPostion().

<clown> UIA: Expose as posinset=<value> in AriaProperties.

<clown> AT-SPI: Expose as object attribute posinset:<value>.

<clown> Apple AX: AXARIAPosInSet: <value>

<clown> ACTION: Cynthia to determine the best place to map aria-colindex and aria-rowindex for MSAA+UIExpress and UIA. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/11/19-aapi-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-1309 - Determine the best place to map aria-colindex and aria-rowindex for msaa+uiexpress and uia. [on Cynthia Shelly - due 2013-11-26].

<clown> action-1309?

<trackbot> action-1309 -- Cynthia Shelly to Determine the best place to map aria-colindex and aria-rowindex for msaa+uiexpress and uia. -- due 2013-11-26 -- OPEN

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/actions/1309

DB: I'd like to understand the original use case for the original request

<clown> scribenick: clown

<davidb> DB: concerned about adding too many attributes

DB: Why not use posinset and setsize instead?

RS: There might be a use for posinset in a cell, and then there would be confusion.
... there is a good chance that parts of the UAIG could be used in other specs.
... For example, name computation in SVG.
... So break up the UAIG into a common guide + specific guides for specific mappings.
... So, a core UAIG, and an specific one for HTML5, and one for SVG.

DB: That's reasonable.

<janina> scribe: janina

<clown> JS: So, if there are no last call comments, we could start this spit early Dec for 1.1.

Issue-483, aria-labelledby for toolbars.

<clown> Issue-483?

<trackbot> Issue-483 -- Modify toolbar role to include aria-labelledby as an acceptable authoring mechanism for labeling when more than one toolbar is provided. -- open

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/issues/483

clown: FF already supports

rs: So, we need one more, and we're done!

clown: Anyone see a problem with this?

rs: Would think tooltip is a DEscribedby

clown: But this is AccessibleName

rs: Equiv to title?

clown: no, no popup

rs: in terms of the name computation

clown: yes
... Toolbar supports ARIA-Label
... This a request to also allow LabeledBy
... Typically, toolbars don't have visible labels

[agreement so to do]

UAIG 1.1 Organization Approach

rs: Any objection to creating core spec and extension modules?

<clown> http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-implementation/#mapping_additional_nd

clown: Checkboxes are always just checkboxes--the same everywhere

rs: But we could put SVG items in an SVG module and href the checkbox where appropriate
... Epub might want it's own module for epub structure roles

<clown> For example, in HTML, the img element's alt attribute defines a label string and the label element references the form element it labels.

[discussion on how to divide and assign the various parts]

[discussion of gaps in mobile APIs]

<clown> issue-17?

<trackbot> issue-17 -- we need to review how WAI-ARIA can be used to make SVG tables accessible -- raised

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/issues/17

rs: Asks Joseph what he wants to edit? Core? HTML?

<clown> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-pfwg-comments/2013OctDec/0000.html

clown: Is a BP comment
