<marcjohlic> +q

<Joshue> JOC: Isn't aria-label better where there isn't text on the page?

<Joshue> MC: Yes

<Joshue> +q

Discussion of when aria-label should be used instead of aria-labelledby or aria-describedby

<Joshue> +q

Consider a second ¨read more link¨ in example to underscore how the aria-label is helping clarify

<Joshue> -q

<Joshue> http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/wiki/Using_aria-label_for_link_purpose

aria-labelledby isn´t as well supported as aria-label

We just realized we discussed this one last week

RESOLUTION: accept as (re) amended

WCAG review of 'Using aria-labelledby to concatenate a label from several text nodes' technique https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/35422/ARIATechs_June21_2013/results#xad

need to add tabindex on example

because of IE quirk, otherwise won´t make it to a11y tree

<Zakim> MichaelC, you wanted to say example three may need substantial rework to avoid political issues

Example 3 may need reworking to avoid plagiarism and pot-shot issues

remove ¨The native HTML label element falls short here because its for attribute allows just one label string to be associated to the text input.¨ not enough relevant to open that can of worms

<Joshue> JOC: I like Andrews suggestion but suggest "The string "Extend time-out to" is contained in a native label element and is associated with the input id="timeout-duration." or similar may be better.

<Joshue> "The string "Extend time-out to" is contained in a native label element and is associated with the input by id="timeout-duration."

accept awk suggested edits to example 1 modulo modification above

RESOLUTION: accept as amended
