<gitbot> 13html/06master 1435f7d11 15steve faulkner: update A link or button containing only an image...

<SteveF> darobin: FYI started updating alt section of spec

<darobin> SteveF: saw the commits, thanks!

<darobin> this means I now need to train myself to stop typing crocofuck all the time

<SteveF> darobin: LOL

<darobin> I think I caught all the cases in which it happened, but it was close

<SteveF> darobin: hope to have the section done - initial pass for review over next few days

<darobin> wunderbar

<gitbot> 01[13html01] 15stevefaulkner pushed 2 new commits to 06master: 02https://github.com/w3c/html/compare/35f7d11b36f9...eac9210e5cdf

<gitbot> 13html/06master 14fc30873 15steve faulkner: added button example...

<gitbot> 01[13html01] 15stevefaulkner pushed 1 new commit to 06master: 02https://github.com/w3c/html/commit/3dbfd9ea2db1da43c04385a8f7e90746a16bf614

<gitbot> 13html/06master 143dbfd9e 15steve faulkner: tweaked exampce code

<stommepoes> SteveF are you just adding newlines?

<SteveF> where?

<stommepoes> last gitbot link for example

<SteveF> i removed <br> tags in <pre> and made it into new lines

<SteveF> also aligned pre code lines

<stommepoes> so you're fixing this http://stommepoes.nl/newlinesw3c.png not creating it?

<stommepoes> if fixing, good job, the newlines are annoying. It's like reading a bad email

<SteveF> yeah i will fix those as most examples are being replaced or updated

<SteveF> apparently it was done to show that code can be done that way...

<SteveF> or maybe not anyways will fix thanks for pointing out

<SteveF> stommepoes: where alt attribute content is really long its getting nixed as its not good practice

<stommepoes> For the stars example I tend to add an x for each thingie, and use an apart line somewhere to say what it means

<stommepoes> yeah I thought they were pretty long

<stommepoes> the rorschach... I dunno that I would describe what those are, I feel that belongs elsewhere

<stommepoes> right now I've changed some divs (fake checkboxes) holding background images to actual X's covered up by the images instead, and added a hidden line stating how many items are checked. I'm constrained by the graphic design but I think due to image-off/css-off sighted use case, that x representing star is more correct.

<stommepoes> Only reason I don't use real stars for stars is IE/Windows has issues with unicode icons :/

<stommepoes> Re my screenshot: if I lower my zoom the "is"s pop back in

<SteveF> darobin: how do you get w3 psec diffs to show? is it ?diff at end of url?

<darobin> SteveF: ,diff

<darobin> you can always just append a comma to see the list of tools

<SteveF> cheers

... needs to let dialog continue for a while

Task Force Reports

janina: continue to meet
... coordinating activities ... edits to ALT attribute section of spec
... in ARIA mappings document, could wait for ALT attribute work
... some folks are away this week
... biggest item: coordination of spec testing related to a11y features

<tantek> Note: paulc_ my comment was genuine. I have no objection to continuing discussions and my vote of confidence in the chairs to guide it is also genuine. I'll speak up again if I have new information to provide in the topic. Thanks.

TextTrack API changes

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html/2013Apr/0027.html

Status: What are the next steps on this matter?

hold, calling in again

<tantek> While Glenn is calling in, let me clarify re: md as a separate doc:

<tantek> No objections to Yandex editing md as a wd/cr and continuing work on it.

glenn: dialog needs to continue

paulc: requests glenn to revive thread, summarizing agreements and open issues

<scribe> ACTION: glenn to revive thread on text track cue open bugs [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/05/23-html-wg-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-228 - Revive thread on text track cue open bugs [on Glenn Adams - due 2013-05-30].

Overview of testing in view of CR exit

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html/2013May/0059.html

Status: The Chairs plan to bring this to the WG for a CfC on subsets of the recommendations.

paulc: will bring this to WG as series of CfCs
... no active plan yet, beginning dialog among chairs

<tantek> Will also note that Yandex also supports indexing microformats in addition to md: http://microformats.org/wiki/yandex-search without a need for microformats to be in a monolithic HTML5.x spec, thus there shouldn't be any problems with them similarly supporting md. Thanks, that was the only new information I thought of.

paulc: need consensus from WG on how to apply DAR's material
... i.e., DAR's record from recent F2F
... need to start putting these decisions in front of WG, should have something in the next 2 weeks

Scribe for Next Meeting

paulc: paulc will chair next week

<krisk> I can help

paulc: any volunteers for scribing

<krisk> scribe

krisk volunteers

paulc: thanks krisk for volunteering

trackbot, end meeting
