<trackbot> Date: 11 January 2013

<bblfish> so I had the agenda here: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webid/2013Jan/0000.html

<bblfish> happy new year 2013

<deiu> Happy new year!

<bblfish> for europeans there is VOIP

<bblfish> if people don't wish to pay for the long distance communication

<deiu> can I use skype too?

<MacTed> deiu - how is VOIP failing? Skype should work, if you can use it to call to the US dialup number

<bblfish> yes

<bblfish> damn connection broke

<deiu> I use a different VOIP client (not skype)

<MacTed> and we've lost your voice, bblfish

<deiu> please scribe until I fix my voice connection :-)

User Stories

<bblfish> on the importance of user stories?

bblfish: having user stories is important for the group

<bblfish> Issue-41?

<trackbot> ISSUE-41 -- Identify Use Cases for WebId -- open

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/webid/track/issues/41

bblfish: especially if we are looking at moving into a WG afterwards
... Jeff Sayre was in charge of the user stories, but haven't seen him in a while

<bblfish> here is the agenda again http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webid/2013Jan/0000.html

<bblfish> anyone know what happened to Jeff Sayre?

<scribe> ACTION: scor to ping Jeff Sayre [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/01/11-webid-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Error finding 'scor'. You can review and register nicknames at <http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/webid/track/users>.

<bblfish> we have this wiki page http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/webid/wiki/User_Stories_and_Use_Cases

<bblfish> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/webid/wiki/Use_Cases_and_Requirements

we seem to have some overlap between the documents listed in the agenda

MacTed: user stories are more free form style, and they drive the second document which is more formal and list use cases.

<bblfish> http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/webid/charter

MacTed: and both drive the requirements

<bblfish> "to compile a set of requirements and use cases for the WebID protocol"

bblfish: user stories -> use cases -> requirements

<deiu> I agree that the final goal should be requirements.

MacTed: we should have simple stories, e.g. sharing pictures and being able to set rules on the share by logic instead of explicit statements

<bobP> There is Angelo's picture sharing site http://picserv.desone.org/picture

bblfish: we can move ACL to our group, we can start discussing that part.

MacTed: but WebID should not only be about ACL

<deiu> MacTed, indeed.

scor: there should be other stories besides ACL

MacTed: e.g. I want to share this picture with "family", and not list explicitly all the members of the family

<deiu> ACL is very important and should be present by design, but it shouldn't be an explicit part of WebID.

bblfish: but there is not ACL group

<bergi> +q

<bobP> echo echo

bergi: can you type instead?

<bergi> maybe we can discuss acl on the rww group

<deiu> bergi, I agree

<bergi> if the topic gets bigger we can create new community group

yes

<bblfish> damn

<deiu> bergi, +1 (my thoughts exactly)

<deiu> I am actually more inclined to start a CG from square one.

MacTed: identity is necessary for ACL, but ACL isn't the only thing you can do with WebID
... there will be one or two stories about ACL

<bblfish> linkability

MacTed: what other stories do we have?

(distributed) single sign on

http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/webid/wiki/User_Stories_and_Use_Cases

let's polish the user stories offline and then we can move to the use cases and requirements

<deiu> A real (distributed <- isn't this always implied nowadays?) notification mechanism

notification mechanism++

<deiu> I'm not talking about pingback, which is greatly lacking (imo).

<bblfish> People should add their user stories and requirements to the document

<deiu> I will do so for notifications

deiu: could you add it to the wiki, please
... thanks

<deiu> scor, yes

WebID hash questionnaire

bblfish: is this the right questionnaire?
... there was no bad feedback from it

<deiu> I get "Questionnaire not yet open"

bblfish: so let's open it now

<bobP> :-)

<bblfish> https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/51933/webid-hash

<deiu> still not open :-)

<magnetik> Works here for me

<deiu> works now

<bblfish> who can see it?

<deiu> needed a ctrl+shift+reload

<trueg> bblfish: I only have read perms, not write. I should be in the WebID Community group, though.

<bblfish> well I am not sure how this works

<bblfish> it's the first time I use this tool

<MacTed> For each option (#1, #2, #3), please indicate whether you "don't want" or "don't mind". Of those which remain, please select a ranking order is (1 is most preferred, 3 is least).

<bblfish> yes, that makes sense

<deiu> ah ok

<MacTed> For each option (#1, #2, #3), please indicate whether you "don't want" (may formally object) or "don't mind" (would not block). Of those which remain, please select a ranking order is (1 is most preferred, 3 is least).

<bblfish> given that change is everyobdy ok for publishing the questionair?

yes

<MacTed> +1 to publish given that change, with Feb 1 close

+1

<deiu> +1

<bergi> +1

<bblfish> Resolved: make change and publish questionair

other issues?

MacTed: the provenance is an area where WebID would make a good difference

bblfish: it's when you think Linked Data and distributed that WebID starts to make sense

<bblfish> http://webid.info/spec/

thanks everyone for the great call

<deiu> scor, I've replied to your mail

<bblfish> I did not ask when we should have the next meeting

<bblfish> in 2 weeks?

<bobP> 1 week?

<deiu> 2 weeks sounds fine

<deiu> there are no pressing issues now, right?

<bobP> 2 weeks certainly OK

<bblfish> yes, I want to do more programming on LDP

<bobP> just put it on the list

<bblfish> ok so in 2 weeks then

<deiu> 2 weeks should put us right before the end of the questionnaire I think

<bobP> good!

<bblfish> ok. talk to you then...

<deiu> thanks all!

<bblfish> make logs public

<MacTed> trackbot, end meeting
