<fsasaki> https://www.w3.org/International/multilingualweb/lt/track/actions/79

David: feedback indicates that we should separate process related metadata

<Arle> (Sorry all. I'm still having trouble. I need to restart my machine and hope it fixes the problem)

David: changes has been reflected in draft

<scribe> ... new processModel has been created based on data from Pedro

UNKNOWN_SPEAKER: still some discussion with Pedro is needed

Cache discussion

Pedro: cache is not about interoperability

<fsasaki> pedro: I'm fine with cache topic to be dropped

Pedro: we are already implementing this
... caching information can be about whole page or about just part of it

Dave: cache should be put back into requirements, it would be good if Pedro can provide some examples

<fsasaki> https://www.w3.org/International/multilingualweb/lt/track/issues/10

Felix: issue-10 lang vs locale

<fsasaki> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-multilingualweb-lt/2012May/0072.html

Felix: we are inconsistent now using BCP47 or UTC #35
... we should unify this
... for language we should use BCP47 exclusively
... for locale we should use UTC #35 and converty "-" to "_"

Resolved

<scribe> ACTION: Felix to Edit requirements doc so consistently use BCP47/UCT35 [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/05/10-mlw-lt-minutes.html#action09]

<fsasaki> felix summarizes XPath discussion

<fsasaki> jirka: XPath 2.0 is pretty well supported now, has much more capabilites than 1.0

<fsasaki> .. if that is too hard for implementers, we can say default is 1.0, but a different mechanism can be used like 2.0

<fsasaki> .. schematron for example says: default is 1.0, there is an attribute "query language" that can contain a preference set: XPath 1.0, XPath 2.0, XQuery

<fsasaki> .. I would prefer 2.0, but we could also say 1.0 is default, and have the attribute described above

<fsasaki> yves: this would be a very good solution from jirka

<fsasaki> .. only concern is conformance: would an application need to be conformant so support all version?

<fsasaki> jirka: we say: MUST support XPath 1.0. Each application should state which other Query language to support

<fsasaki> .. but require at least 1.0

<fsasaki> yves: sounds good to me

<fsasaki> ACTION: jirka to summarize the xpath proposal to the list and shaun [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2012/05/10-mlw-lt-minutes.html#action10]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-89 - Summarize the xpath proposal to the list and shaun [on Jirka Kosek - due 2012-05-17].
