bug 13246

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13246

CS: have started thinking about this - need help from the Windows team - should be able to get to them next week

Issues and Action

http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/products/10

http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/products/10

http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-implementation/#mapping_state-property

AS: issue-459 - what should happen for aria-describedby in MSAA if it's not hidden?

CS: think it should be exposed whether hidden or not
... In both cases, take text children from the referenced element and create a string and expose in AccDescription

AS: "expose as text string in accDescription" and link to Name and Description Calculation section

Issue-454

CS: shouldn't need to use aria-hidden - display:none should be sufficient

<cyns> http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-implementation/#def_hidden

CS: think the definition is wrong

AS: that would be a normative change

CS: not going to do for ARIA 1.0 - this should be added to 2.0 or the errata

http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-implementation/#mapping_events

AS: look at second table in 5.8.2
... first row defines what happens when a subtree is hidden - do these things also happen for display:none?
... do we want to get into describing behavior for CSS in this document?
... UAIG is about implementing WAI-ARIA

CS: at most, we could add a note saying the same thing happens on display:none but not visibility:hidden
... when you use display:none some things happen - seeing Windows events, not UIA events, using IE 9

bug - Cynthia to investigate - P2

issue-457

CS: SHOULD NOT map states and properties that are not relevant for the role but SHOULD pass entire properties string if API supports it

action 830
