AS: first issue is the exception of tablist for the selection follows focus
... are there any other exceptions to that rule?

DB: can't think of any other cases
... looking at the roles to see if there are any others
... composite widgets are likely suspects
... think tablist is the only odd one of the composite widgets
... spinbutton might be an exception - focus could be on the buttons but what is selected is one of the options
