<mhausenblas> scribenick: Ashok
<scribe> scribenick: Ashok
Ashok: What is process to move drafts to next stage?
<mhausenblas> Michael: Ashok means moving to CR
Ivan: When WG solves all the
issues we can issue a Last Call
... we will get a bunch of comments
<mhausenblas> http://www.w3.org/2009/08/rdb2rdf-charter
Ivan: we need to respond formally to these and then move to CR
<betehess> related question: do we plan to move both r2ml and the direct mapping to CR at the same time?
Michael: We will need at least 2
conforming implementations ... so we need to focus on test
suites, test cases
... It would be good to move both drafts to CR together but
that's not necessary
Ivan: It would be better to advance the 2 documents in step
<mhausenblas> ACTION-91?
<mhausenblas> hmm, why does tracker not understand this
Boris: We changed the methodology of the test cases on the last telcon. We will send test cases in email

above
... you can name the issues for convenience
Ashok: We can then schedule them for discussion on telcons

<mhausenblas> MacTed are you on?
Michael: Editors, any comments
Marcelo: I, too, have been on
vacation
... I will add Datalog semantics this months
<mhausenblas> http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/rdb2rdf/directMapping/
Ivan: We have a document with
agreed upon English semantics ... and Scala semantics
... plan is to complete the document with Datalog semantics
Eric: I want to fix the Scala semantics a bit. The set notation semantics have been verified by M. Stonebraker and others
Ivan: How will the to documents be harmonized ... for example the URI generation algorithm
<betehess> it's not really a "Scala semantics" but that's ok
Richard: If we had an empty R2RML
document that would be the Direct Mapping
... we have not gotten it to that direction
... It's a tricky issue. Will require some thought. Need some
creative solutions.
... If you don't say something about a table is it just not
mapped or is the default mapping used?
Souri: I will look at it ... I
will create some points for discussion next week
... question is what is the universe ... what about tables not
specified ... or perhaps if only parts of Table are
mapped
<mhausenblas> ACTION: Souri to identify not-mapping vs. default-mapping issues in R2RML/DM (Wiki or via mail) [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2011/01/11-rdb2rdf-minutes.html#action02]

Discussion of mapping to ontology
<Zakim> ericP, you wanted to talk about graph patterns which fit an OWL ontology or RDF schema
Ivan: Should we have a primer for
R2RML?
... then the mapping to an Ontology could go into the
primer
<betehess> [[
<betehess> <betehess> ericP, boris, https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/rdb2rdf-tests/ is alive
<betehess> <betehess> you can add whatever you want in it
<betehess> <betehess> all the WG has write access to it, using W3C web credentials
<betehess> ]]
Michael: A primer would be good to have .... we could add principles for Linked Data mapping .... good practices
<mhausenblas> ACTION-89?
<trackbot> ACTION-89 -- Michael Hausenblas to create a Linked Data issue and draft proposal to address -- due 2011-01-18 -- OPEN
<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/rdb2rdf/track/actions/89
Michael: I did not do my action yet
<Souri> what is the time frame?
<ericP> +½ to famous, +1 to rich
Discussion on writing a primer ... you can write it and then publish it as a book
rrrsagent, make logs public
<mhausenblas> http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/rdb2rdf/wiki/Semtech_2011_Proposal
<mhausenblas> Michael: thanks a lot to Juan for all the hard work re the SemTech proposal
Ivan: R2RML has changed quite a bit ... we should re-publish
<betehess> bye
<mhausenblas> [adjourned]
Michael: Let's try for new WD by the end of January
<betehess> WD for which document?
<mhausenblas> Ashok, assuming you gonna send out the minutes?
<mhausenblas> thanks a lot for scribing, Ashok!
<betehess> mhausenblas, I'm ok to scribe next week
<mhausenblas> thanks, betehess
