Web Accessibility Training Overview

http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/training/2009/Overview.html

<darren> Shadi: Good that it's short and to the point. Could add links to the bullets

<darren> Andrew: Didn't add links initially as there may be information at the top of the pages people should read.

3-day workshop Agenda on the Examples page

http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/training/2009/scenarios.html#eg5agenda

Darren: is Day 2 - visual page design about CSS?

andrew: may need to draw this out more

darren: should scripting be near multimedia? maybe doesn't matter

shadi: visual design is also about page structure and flow

darren: multimedia is advanced and maybe could be moved later (also about widgets and players etc)

Andrew: move 'managing web accessibility' to day 1?

<darren> shadi: Merge 'managing web accessibility' with Web Accessibility Basics

shadi: move most of the bullets from Basics to Content Authoring
... expand managing and slot in after lunch on day 1
... move Evaluation to after the pm break on day 3
... expand scripting and ARIA to 1.5 hours
... move quick checks for accessibility into the new managing session

scribe: maybe also 'retrofitting web sites' should be mentioned in Managing
... "accessibility supported" goes out on Managing to Working with WCAG and to Conformance

<Zakim> shadi, you wanted to talk about darren's point re multimedia and aria

shadi: multimedia and where it fits best
... and its title, e.g. "Accessible multimedia" to "MM transcripts and captioning"
... or "transcripts and captioning for MM"
... and note under 'scripting' that this also applies to embedded objects such as media players
... "Visual page design" rename to "Visual page design & CSS" for clarity

all: discussion about pros & cons of having a wrap-up/summary session at the end of day 2

<scribe> ACTION: andrew to follow up on Day 2 wrap up vs end Day 3 or during sessions - maybe with EO and/or with experienced trainers [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2010/04/21-waiage-minutes.html#action01]
