<krisk> light attendance

<gsnedders> Zakim: what's the code?

<krisk> I'll start in a few more minutes, in case anyone wants to attend but is running a bit late

<gsnedders> adrianba: need a question mark,

<scribe> scribenick:adrianba

<scribe> scribenick: adrianba

krisk: 4 open actions items
... closed 1, 3, 4
... action-2 extended date - this is for mercurial
... due on philippe
... should be set-up in february
... is this just something to check in to or will there be a web server too?

gsnedders: usual set-up is to have web access

krisk: these are just some of the details we need to work through, accounts, etc.

new tests wanted

krisk: can anyone create a reference test?

gsnedders: should have some tests for content sniffing

krisk: existing html tests added to wiki

<gsnedders> … somewhere, can't find them

<krisk> for example -> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/Existing_Html5_Tests

<krisk> lists some content sniffing tests

krisk: this would help towards parsing tests and get the group comfortable with our reference tests

<krisk> any objections to starting with for parser tests?

krisk: at the last meeting we talked about focussing on the parser
... are there any particular places we want to start?

gsnedders: starting with the html5lib tests would be a good start

<krisk> I'll take a peek at these and create a few action items to help move forward

gsnedders: parser tests should be quite up to date
... used in validator and gecko html5 parser
... shouldn't be far behind the spec

<krisk> sounds good

gsnedders: question about tokeniser tests because these can't really be run in a browser without direct access to the tokeniser?
... don't think anyone has tried to use them to actually test within a browser before - might need to think about a different format here

krisk: ok
... should we create an action to track this and look for a volunteer?
... think that's it on parser tests for today

test dependencies

krisk: for example, making sure that if you write a test then it doesn't incorrectly fail because of something else you're dependent on
... specifically on the OM tests

<gsnedders> OM?

krisk: it might be a good idea to create an action to make some simple tests to prove the dependencies work
... OM=object model tests
... say you're testing how a control or element can be styled, don't use some new CSS4 selector
... this wouldn't be a good test for the none CSS4 thing

<krisk> any objections?

krisk: that's all on the agenda
... anything else
... okay, adjourned then - thanks
