<codedread> scribenick: HelderMegalhaes

<HelderMagalhaes> scribenick HelderMagalhaes

<codedread> Introduction for HelderM: enthusiast involved with SVG, working with SVG every day

<codedread> presented an article at last year's conference, SVG for diagramming

<codedread> follow on svg-developers, svg ig

<codedread> would like to start some libraries involving SVG

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: agenda: DDaileys's book

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: where can we put the book, related stuff

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: setting up the CVS repository

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: only helder and codedread have replied

<HelderMagalhaes> gwadej: trying to generate the public key

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: who wants CVS access needs to email me

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: username comes from the SVGIG, the public key must be sent to me

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: is it already on CVS

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: it's there for a while

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: we need to start breaking the document, accepting patches, etc..

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: there were emails back in June with revisions...

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: volunteer to ressurect emails about book revisions

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: need new chapter

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: new stuff: chrome, safari, new changes in browsers

<HelderMagalhaes> gwadej: need the CVS in order to check for new stuff

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: version at ddailey site and W3C are currently the same

<HelderMagalhaes> mute me

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: need to pick a chapter to review

<HelderMagalhaes> Rob_Russell: I'm on chapter 7

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: need to resume call every two weeks

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: need to validate book's HTML

<Rob_Russell> woops, just dug up the old email, it was Chapter V - Dynamic SVG and JavaScript i committed to

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: there is a number of file things who were tweaked to look well in all browsers

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: code looks worse in the W3C's version

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: book stuff should go into the mailing list

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: agreed, let's move forward.

torture tests

<codedread> http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/IG/wiki/Torture

<codedread> http://code.google.com/p/svgtorture/

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: torture tests for over a year. need to start making them

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: try to break implementations?

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: if microsoft comes with an implementation in IE9, how should we try to test it?

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: but we already know about the problem in existing implementations

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: we should hit those tests

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: we've seen some rumous about IE into SVG, but those are just that. We need to work with existing, real implementations

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: they should be minimal examples

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: the Acid tests may be good as agregations

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: startup with individual tests

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: let's start with simple, pass/fail tests

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: let's get together next week, maybe one hour earlier

<HelderMagalhaes> HelderMagalhaes: to create tests?

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: yeah, maybe to start making some tests

<HelderMagalhaes> HelderMagalhaes: I'll try to attend

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: we'll try to make a pool for the torture meeting

<HelderMagalhaes> Rob_Russell: me too

<HelderMagalhaes> an: I'm interested too

<ddailey> David is interested too

<HelderMagalhaes> (not Rob_Russell, ddailey)

<HelderMagalhaes> shepazu: must go to the SVGWG meeting, anything else?

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: something with andreas, nothing special

SVG Open 2010

<HelderMagalhaes> an: possbly in Paris, September

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: second week would be better, first couple of weeks is usually to the semester startup

<HelderMagalhaes> an: but the organizer said it needed to be before the semester startup

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: I'd be interested in reviewing again

<HelderMagalhaes> gwadej: review too

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: interested in reviewing too

<HelderMagalhaes> an: 2009 conference ended up with some financial issues, need to make some pression to end up a few pending things

<HelderMagalhaes> an: need to finish everything by the end of the year

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: it could be useful to keep the LLC to other conferences...?

<HelderMagalhaes> an: maybe...

vector effects

<HelderMagalhaes> an: interesting to organize a meeting, about 10 people

<HelderMagalhaes> an: not just vector, marker effects as well

<HelderMagalhaes> an: wonder how many would be interested...?

<HelderMagalhaes> HelderMagalhaes: where? is it a proposal?

<HelderMagalhaes> an: not yet, just putting up a few ideas, I'm open to ideas. I could host it in Switzerland, but it could also be in UK or other places

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: problem is also the budget issue, travel worldwide expenses...

<HelderMagalhaes> an: ideas would be implementable in a couple yearrs

<HelderMagalhaes> an: idea would be helping implementors

<HelderMagalhaes> HelderMagalhaes: to make implementation easier/quicker?

<codedread> :)

<codedread> you're doing fine

<HelderMagalhaes> (ok, guess I'm a little better now)

<HelderMagalhaes> an: SVG layout issues

<HelderMagalhaes> an: variables spec.

<stelt> layout as in heycam's work?

<HelderMagalhaes> ddailey: maybe in the mailing list it would be better to put up a few ideas

<HelderMagalhaes> an: yeah, it would be better as well

<stelt> an, stream the meeting

<HelderMagalhaes> HelderMagalhaes: start a topic in the mailing list?

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: yeah, that would do

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: ending up, need to start meeting more regularly

<HelderMagalhaes> codedread: thanks everyone

<HelderMagalhaes> HelderMagalhaes: bye

<gwadej> rssagent, draft minutes

<HelderMagalhaes> me too, I had a lot of connection breaks... :-|

<gwadej> rssagent, make log public
