Announcements

Steven: New W3C website
... I'm away next week, you are free to meet if you want, but you'll have to arrange it, or take a week off

PERs

<inserted> Ongoing, no news yet

XHR

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009Oct/0009

Steven: Do we need to reply?

MoZ: It should not reference HTML5 normatively, regardless of our position on HTML5. The definitions paragraph with no idea of location in that (large) spec is nto good, and should be more specific.

<scribe> ACTION: Steven to respnd to AvK reply about XHR [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/10/14-xhtml-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-100 - Respnd to AvK reply about XHR [on Steven Pemberton - due 2009-10-21].

Issues

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009Oct/0010.html

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009May/0034

Steven: Definitely done that
... We just need to prune these, I suspect we have done most in our earlier trawl through the db

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009May/0033

Shane: Done

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009Jun/0003

Shane: Done

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-html-editor/2009JulSep/0003

Shane: Done (also in XHTML 1.0
... ... but what do we do about that?)

Steven: I'll invite you to the transition call to talk about it
... CURIE spec no longer relevant?

Shane: Produce a note
... aren't we turning all our unfinished specs into notes?

Steven: Most, but some are being given to others

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-html-editor/2009JulSep/0002

Steven: Too late for that one

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-html-editor/2009JulSep/0001

Shane: All editorial. I'll incorporate them.
... if we're turning it into a note

Steven: I think it would be good to round it off.

MoZ: RIF are using CURIEs

http://www.w3.org/standards/techs/rif

<mgylling> http://www.w3.org/TR/rif-dtb/#The_Base_and_Prefix_Directives

Steven: They use it in their syntax, but it is an informational reference...

http://www.w3.org/TR/rif-core/#Informational_References

Steven: Markus's ref is normative
... interesting

Shane: Maybe we could hand it to the planned RDFa WG

Steven: That's a plan

Markus: SMIL3 is using @role by the way

Steven: Also interesting
... These are points worth raising with W3C when we go to the transition call

<mgylling> Reference to XHTML Role Module: http://www.w3.org/TR/SMIL/smil-daisy-profile.html

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009May/0028

Steven: Is a 1.0 issue

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009May/0030

Steven: Ditto
... That leaqves one more issue, for XHTML2

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009Jun/0017

Tina: Our testing tool does test for it

Steven: Oh he wants spaces instead of commas

Shane: We can't change this; HTML4 is like this too

Steven: I see his point, but I agree

Shane: I will push a new version of CURIEs for the time being
... if others are referencing it normatively, 'm not sure if a note is a good idea

Steven: They could change it to reference RDFa
... This is as afar as I know the first time we have cleared all issues that we know of...

AOB

Steven: Reminder I will be away for one week

Tina: Regrets for the next meeting in two weeks

Tine: Where are we in the grand scheme of things

MoZ: What are the possibilities of continuing the work?

Steven: There are three possibilities

Tina: I would prefer an org with some existing credibility

Moz: ISO is a possibility

Steven: Oasis too

MoZ: For ISO you have to go via the national organization

Steven: Oasis has individual membership
... which would be a lower barrier for entry

Shane: ISO is also not very open

Steven: Since I'll be working with Oasis on ODF, I'll see what is possible
