<YvesS> Scribe: YvesS

Felix: Just to know before you leave. About the discussion about rel for HTML5 and XHTML2? Are you still OK with rel="i18nrules"?

<fsasaki> YvesS, sure

Ok, Thanks.

Too bad about Camill. Great about you. You want to scribe?

<fsasaki> ha!

<fsasaki> you got me :)

<fsasaki> scribe: fsasaki

<YvesS> You're just so much better at it.

that is a good method to convince people to do something, telling them how good they are at it ;)

<Jirka> hi folks, I can't join you by voice today. Please accept my regrets.

<YvesS> ok.

action items

Felix: don't think that there is anything in OWL

Yves: widgets spec done, but they went back to WD
... no need for more actions here
... HTML 5, XHTML 2. HTML 5 via mail, rel attribute set to "i18nrules"
... XHTML2, discussion with them, they will use what they have for directionality ruby etc for what they have, and for new things the ITS namespace
... they will have a link with rel attribute that points to ITS rules, rel attribute will be also "i18nrules" in XHTML2
... not clear what other formats for i18nrules you have, in addition to ITS
... not sure if it needs to be specific or generic

felix: if it is generic you would need content sniffing

yves: agree, maybe we should comment on that and push for something specific

+1

yves: XHTML2 folks should also agree with that
... let's comment on the mailling list

discussion about ITS in HTML (5)

r12a: translate flag can be done with class attributes, but not localization notes

yves: localization notes would be a seperate attribute

r12a: yes

yves: not sure if this is needed, maybe we need to revise discussion

continuing discussion

r12a: have there been discussions on ITS IG list about this?

yves: not so much, only about translate and the class attribute

EU thematic network proposal

r12a describes http://www.w3.org/2009/02/ictpsp-preliminary-description.html

ITS rules

Yves: not much new here

ITS processor API

yves: will release XML filter soon that implements API
... in a few days
... trados studio 9 supports ITS, seems to work pretty well
... a big step, we can point other people to it. Release will be in May
... they support translate, element within text etc.

r12a: is that their latest translation tool?

yves: yes

felix: great news!

yves: would be good to integrate language tag checker here, will send info about that to Felix

ITS processor for XSLT

Felix: nothing really new here, processor is working with its:translate, other things like its:withinText might be helpful

<scribe> .. ongoing as usual

ITS General issues

Yves: long term AI

ITS Streaming processor

Yves: also nothing new, dead end until there is progress in general XML parsing with XPath support

r12a: making things public like ITS processor etc.
... pointing to the wiki etc.

Yves: we will do that soon, after the release

r12a: can create a blog item for i18n homepage

yves: sure, will create some text for that

AOB
