Discussion about Action 31

<Steven> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-html-editor/2009JanMar/0000.html

We were ready to transition when we spotted some issues that had not gotten closed with I18N

They sent a message back that we have not yet discussed.

<Steven> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-html-editor/2009JanMar/0001.html

Shane thinks that a character from the document character set is exactly correct given XHTML's role in the authoring stream.

Addison requests that we invite someone to a call.

I18N group is concerned about mapping from the keyboard to the document character set.

Shane thinks that this is outside of our scope and they should to talk to the DOM3 group.

Steven says it is not our aim to define the mapping between the keyboard and characters (or any other mechanism and characters)

Markus suggests we change the name of the attribute.

Possible "character" or "mapping".

Shane asks if this means we need to repeat last call? Group says no - no semantic changes.

<Steven> code, mapping, shortcut

Steven suggests we offer the I18N group some options and let them pick.

<scribe> ACTION: Steven to reply to Addison with a request for a new attribute name. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/02/04-xhtml-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-47 - Reply to Addison with a request for a new attribute name. [on Steven Pemberton - due 2009-02-11].

Steven will send out the role attribute CR transition request tomorrow.

PER specs are undergoing final review and editing now.

close action-46

<trackbot> ACTION-46 Define caption module and add issue about whether caption should be included in the Text content set. closed

XHTML Media Types Second Edition

we have received a couple of editorial comments.

<Steven> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009Jan/0122.html

We dealt with these comments earlier but apparently did not send a formal response.

<Steven> W3C Working Group Note 16 January 2009

<Tina> The concerns raised there are, in my view, political. Unless we accept - and I see no reason to do so - that the HTML WG are creating XHTML Family specification, there is no merit to the demands made so very rudely.

(The group went through the original message to ensure that each item had already been discussed and addressed - Steven to compose a formal reply)

<scribe> ACTION: Steven to send a formal reply to message 122 [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2009/02/04-xhtml-minutes.html#action03]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-48 - Send a formal reply to message 122 [on Steven Pemberton - due 2009-02-11].

<Roland> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-html/2009Jan/0072.html

iframe and noscript content are processed differently between XML and HTML - that's the core of the problem.

<Steven> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2008Oct/0027.html

<Tina> Do we have a document that explains exactly how the iframe is processed differently?

yes we do. it is in a mail message.

<Tina> The one above?

I18N and @xml:lang in HTML

<Roland> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2009Feb/0000.html

The group seems in favor of ensuring that @xml:lang is included in the HTML serialization.

Next week meeting

Steven will not be available - XForms f2f.

<Steven> rrsagent, make minutes

<Steven> rrsagent, make minutes
