Charter extension

Been announced?

Publish as "working notes"

Announcement that charter is extended until 1 may

4 months.

<mscottm> Sorry - here's the right URL: http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/hcls/notes/kb/

seems ambitious given the holiday.

+1 to susie

Susie: Better to publish in January?

Eric: Desire to publish by 21 decemeber.

<dbooth> dbooth thinks it would be better after the holiday -- more likely to get attention

Susie: Let lead authors of the documents make the decision

Scott: If draft by the 22nd, can we add to it?

Eric: Q: Do we publish something for the world to see sooner?

Susie: Once we have the working draft, that's the version that the whole world is given to edit
... Good enough that you can get reasonable feedback
... But not so polished that you will have to make too many difficult changes

Eric: Not responsible as interest group - we don't have to give feedback to peoples comments - that's for working groups.

Susie: Scott - does this influence your choice about when?

Scott: Could get largest issues dealt with soon. Assembling lots of information already documented by Alan, Jonathan, Matthias, Don, and others.
... If overall structure for document, then fill it in, then doesn't see problem releasing sooner.
... Reason not to do it would be to take advantage of extension would fix some of the known issues in the KB and then document it.

Susie: Given the amount of time, unlikely to have time to do new technical work. Plus we've done enough work already to write up.

Scott: Concurs

Resolved: Going to working draft to KB documentation in December

Susie: Eric - will you take lead on formal aspects of publication? Transitions, etc.

Eric: What was subject of Ivan's email re publication

<mscottm> I'm going to try dialing in again - I saw that my phone was causing some noise.

Susie: Transtion request trigger cc to chairs, what uri should be, what short uri should be, w3c-communications, etc
... Need someone to own it.

Eric: I take care of this sort of thing assuming group is OK

Susie: Need to publish by Friday. Need to send out request *soon*

<scribe> ACTION: Eric to write note asking for publication [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/12/17-BioRDF-minutes.html#action01]

Eric: Can do publication early next week

<mscottm> trying to dial in and getting "this passcode is not valid" (again)

Eric: Try if we want and if it doesn't work, then scrap it for january if not

Susie concurs

<scribe> ACTION: Scott to be ready to publish on Friday (best effort) [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/12/17-BioRDF-minutes.html#action02]

Alan: If damaging that we say we will publish and we don't then do it then does it look bad

Eric: Doesn't look bad

Susie: Still shooting for friday

Scott: Issues in getting the doc out: New query from Matthias. Use it in place of current query.
... of interest to people who are interested in the internal workings of the kb are schemas for each of the data sources.

alan: What are the "schemas" is not always well defined. e.g. what is the schema from Gene ontology?

scott: Scratch that (= gather schemas)
... Address articulation points in the query itself

Susie: Can alway include it in a future release.

Alan: Can we add new material in January?

Susie: As we go forward and do new stuff with the knowledge base. Do we add new versions? Or do we write new documents with completely new material?

Eric: Editorial decision. Expectation is that we will want to grow this in to one document unless there are appendices that are one the side.

summary: Ok to add new material

<scribe> ACTION: schedule meeting to discuss documentation in HCLS slot. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/12/17-BioRDF-minutes.html#action03]

thursday 11

Alan: Needs wordsmithing. Have proofreads by SC assistant. Suggest Alan, Susie do wording edit and cleanup, in coordination with Kersten

<kei> I have to go now for another meeting. I'll continue to work with Matthias and others on the SenseLab documentation ...

Susie: (alan concurs) DSE note for release in January

<scribe> ACTION: Alan to apply changes to current html version. Susie to review document by thursday. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/12/17-BioRDF-minutes.html#action04]
