<LeeF> ACTION: Jeen to mark approved tests as dawg:approved [DONE] [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/02/06-dawg-minutes.html#action07]
LeeF: Skip discussing minimality of test suite until SimonR is available with a better phone connection.
<LeeF> Andy's tests regarding blank node label scope and also extent of BGP:
<LeeF> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2007JanMar/0056.html
LeeF: Would we like to add Andy's tests for bnode label scope in the preceding URIs?
<AndyS> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2007JanMar/0062.html changes the bad-39 test to a good one.
EricP: Has glanced at the new tests, but not run them.
LeeF: Proposed adding the tests as unapproved; approve next week.
<LeeF> ACTION: LeeF to add Andy's bnode label scope tests to CVS as unapproved syntax tests [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/02/06-dawg-minutes.html#action08]
LeeF: Reviews of rq25 -- SteveH said he'd been busy and hadn't been able to review yet.
Souri: Will be on vacation betwen 9-Feb and early March, will have some time off from development to do stuff like rq25 review.
<SimonR> Yes, I'll be able to do that review.
AndyS: 4.1.4 changed "existential variable" to "non-distinguished variable, discussed with Bijan who agreed it was clearer.
<AndyS> Eric - there are some @@'s in sec 11 - could you (also!) deal with then and 11.x.yBIS.
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2007JanMar/0065.html
<ericP> AndyS, yep, intend to work on @@s
<AndyS> EricP - The BIS is really odd now.
<ericP> BIS?
<AndyS> EricP - 11.4.10bis sameTerm
<ericP> Oh oh oh!!! forgot about that
<AndyS> 2* 11.4.10 currently :-)
Souri: The use of the . separator seems inconsistent in the current draft.
<AndyS> Souri - this is more than http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/DataAccess/rq23/rq25.html#sparqlSyntax ?? Suggestions for additions (with text :-) very welcome.
LeeF: Invites Souri to suggest better text for #sparqlSyntax; AndyS requests guidance on where it would fit in the document.
LeeF: Haven't done protocol work for a while, in Elias's absence. Last message on protocol is http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2006OctDec/0082
<LeeF> Bjoern on posting SPARQL queries directly:
<LeeF> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg-comments/2006Sep/0007
<LeeF> question: should we allow SPARQL queries to be POSTed directly as application/sparql-query
AndyS: In general likes the idea - wonders if we need to state explicitly that the query needs to be UTF-8. Also wonders if we had a reason for not doing this previously.
EricP: Is there precedent for servers switching on MIME type?
Ivan suggested it was useful for debugging in http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-dawg/2007JanMar/0066.html
EricP: You wouldn't be able to set the other parameters [default-graph-uri or named-graph-uri]
EricP: Seems like a good idea, but slight benefit for the work involved.
<LeeF> MIME type registration: http://www.alvestrand.no/pipermail/ietf-types/2005-November/000894.html
LeeF: MIME registration does state use of UTF-8, so AndyS's character encoding misgivings are addressed.
<AndyS> POST does not preclude ?parameters as well as the body.
LeeF: We're not ready to decide this today, particularly would like to run it past Elias as well.
<LeeF> ACTION: Lee to talk to protocol editors re: POSTing application/sparql-query [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/02/06-dawg-minutes.html#action09]
<ericP> RFC3986 5.1.2 Base URI from the Encapsulating Entity
<AndyS> Base URI alg does not necessary always get a result. In which case rel IRIs are wrong.
<ericP> #relIRIs
<LeeF> ACTION: Lee to adapt text from 4.1.1 to specify how the protocol can contribute to the base IRI for query evaluation as per #relIRIs in the QL spec [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2007/02/06-dawg-minutes.html#action10]
<ericP> 5.1.1, "Base URI Embedded in Content": BASE
<ericP> 5.1.2, "Base URI from the Encapsulating Entity": xml:base in SOAP:Env
<ericP> 5.1.3, "Retrieval URI": service endpoint?
<ericP> 5.1.4, "Default Base URI": API or other protocol convention?
LeeF: Any additional agenda issues?
