<gilman> I'm not sure what happened here

<gilman> I sent the minutes out and edited the html but nothing took...

<gilman> I'm completely baffled

<em> Scribe: @@

<Roger> Hi, folks. Nobody on the phone line yet, unless I'm on the wrong line.

<em> Roger, you 2 min early :) pls stand by as folks will join

<em> (ericn, in future meeting, pls provide pointers to the tasks you'd like updates on)

<Roger> Roger is scribe.

<em> Scribe: Roger

<em> i think zakim may be confused

<eneumann> em, your answering system called us

<em> odd

Minutes from last telcon??

Brian sent them but something went wrong. He will try again.

<em> Brian: I sent these out, but dont see them... will go look for them

<gilmanb> http://www.w3.org/2006/03/23-hcls-minutes.html

<gilmanb> very, very odd

<gilmanb> there are only 2 actions

<gilmanb> those are yours and mine

Propose another call April 20. Two weeks from now.

Resolved: Next meeting HCLS April 20, scribe to be em

<gilman> no one is new

<gilman> look at actions

<gilman> scribe Brian

<gilman> scribe, gilmanb

<Davide> so no conf on the 13th, right?

<gilman> which one of immediate tasks will have owners?

<em> (from last meeting) ...

<em> ACTION: [NEW] Brian keeps discussion going with task forces and places names next to tasks on the wiki [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/23-hcls-minutes.html#action02]

Tasks:

<em> ACTION: [NEW] en and brian spell out ROI on the wiki [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/03/23-hcls-minutes.html#action01]

<gilman> Susie - no call so there are no updates

Susie: Not many updates because no call.

<gilman> Susie will post updates next week

Are you scribing, Mr. Gilman?

I'll be glad to give over to you.

<gilman> please go ahead roger

<gilman> thank you very much

<gilman> scribe, roger

Lilly participation would be nice -- they are getting curious but not quite ready.

<gilman> scribe, Roger

<scribe> ACTION: Eric and Eric will talk to people in Lilly. Try to coordinate with others so a reasonable number of people contact Lilly. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/04/06-hcls-minutes.html#action03]

<Zakim> em, you wanted to ask a process'esq question and to

Vipul: First task, continue use case analysis.

Owners Don D and Kansako.

Task 2: Create a seed ontology - Vipul will own.

Task 3: Map seed ontology and map to existing ontologies on Web like SnoMed.

<em> vipul, can you provide pointers to these tasks?

John Madden will own Task 3

Task 4 - Map concepts in ontology to data sources.

Owner Zhazhou Wong.

Have updated Wiki page for Ontology task force to reflect these tasks.

<Zakim> em, you wanted to ask task question / expectations ; also to suggest specific an additional action item re Eli Lilly

<vipul> http://esw.w3.org/topic/HCLS/OntologyTaskForce

Eric Miller:

Are we discussing tasks here or just summarizing?

What are we doing now?

Answer: Owners of tasks responsible for moving forward - best to have specific telcons and use this telcon for updates.

Tanya - Would be helpful if task forces updated Wiki's with specifics.

Vipul - Use case is live document on Wiki.

<eneumann> Roger, we're trying to map owners to primary tasks here

Eric and Tanya are not participating in task force calls.

em: To Susie: Lilly activity encouraging, would S. be willing to take an action to write up use case summary with Lilly.

S: Sure.

<scribe> ACTION: Susie to work with Lilly to document their use cases. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/04/06-hcls-minutes.html#action04]

<em>

<em> ^ use cases and demonstrations

Davide: Is Vipul interacting with John Madden on Owl constructs?

Vipul. Yes.

Note: task ownership is basically coordination, not the only person working on something.

Davide: Will talk about LNP-RDF next BioRDF call.

s/ANL/NLP

<em> :)

Are all the interested parties on board?

Will have BioRDF call 4/10.

S: Says BioRDF bridge not quite scheduled.

Eric says is taking care of it.

em: Is there a Wiki page keeping track of all these telcons?

There's one for the BioRDF site.

em: Suggests a single wiki page for all the telcon scheduling.

And agendas.

<jluciano> sorry i'm late

People using a mixture of email and wiki.

Suggest that each task force Wiki page document meetings at top.

Roger: Suggest putting all schedules on one wiki page or consistently use email.

em - Suggest a single calendar page.

Brian Gilman and whoever is talking will set up high level page.

Brian already set up task summary page.

<eneumann> Roger, I will work with Brian and Tonya on this

Any other task forces?

Overview of EN discussions from last week about neurosciences.

Sent some links to various activities.

Bluepring workshop meeting in DC.

Aligns with our tasks: Neuroinformatic imaging and information storage

NIFTY??

FMRI - Functional MRI's.

Many academic tools, but problems with interop.

Hassling about defining metadata for this stuff.

<eneumann> http://www.nimh.nih.gov/dnbbs/nifti.pdf

Above PDF summarizes issues - suggest people review and see if want to follow up.

MBurn - Mouse brain imaging. And human.

Many use cases.

<eneumann> http://www.nbirn.net/TestBeds/Mouse/SampleQueries.htm

Neuroscientists - want to use brain coordinates, 3D map, as the fundamental starting poitn/.

Look at where genes expressed in different parts of brain and map it.

Looking at using XML for mapping, but EN concerned that this is not adequate.

Will put names of people in Wiki (I guess_.

em: Specific next steps: inviting neuro folks to join list and participate.

Are there specific connections between NBIRN and tasks underway here?

EN: Connections via disease connections, eg Parkinsons.

em: How do we translate active discussions to concrete "next steps".

EN: Focussing on making connections between people at this point.

<jluciano> joanne is here too

<jluciano> and i'm on the queue

DonD - Mentioned this group at conference on computational neuroscience

they are indeed XML focussed at this time.

RDF possibilities not on their radar screen yet.

EN - Dan Gardner against RDF approach.

Robert Williams, David Van Essen -- interested.

<em> BrainML.org -> BrainML is a developing initiative to provide a standard XML metaformat for exchanging neuroscience data. It focuses on layered definitions built over a common core in order to support community-driven extension.

Joanne - Need to be clear what RDF/OWL really buys you over XML.

joanne - 1-1 conversations.

em - Suggests looking at what the group can do to support the 1-1 contacts.

What specific tasks can we identify to illustrate value of RDF for BrainML?

Document possibilities or even build proofs of concepts.

EN - take at least one brain atlas model and glue information onto it. That's one existing task.

Vipul: F2F meetings and workshops.

International Semantic Web conference in Athens Ga in November.

<eneumann> F2F meeting vs Public Workshops

Wants to organize workshops there.

Joanne -- Sort of maybe volunteers.

Well, she's waffling. She passes.

Is Eric N going?

Eric and Tonya MAYBE going to meeting.

Look at PUBLIC workshop in this context.

<scribe> ACTION: Eric N, Vipul, Tonya talk about the Athens, GA conference and possible organization of workshop. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/04/06-hcls-minutes.html#action05]

Susie: Co-chair of RuleML -- no room for more workshops at this meeting.

Also wants to have meeting in Europe.

Vipul - Co-location is not a big deal - some rooms have been blocked out.

Susie - So how come RuleML couldn'

couldn't get a room.

Vipul seems to have access to rooms that Susie doesn't.

<Davide> got to log out, see you guys

<vipul> http://iswc2006.semanticweb.org/workshop_tutorial/workshops.htm

Nov 6 date of workshops. See above link. Day before conferenc.e

WWW2006 in Edinburg.

Susie will be presenting at WWW2006.

W3C interest group meeting, like Boston, different from Public meeting, different from informal get-togethers.

W3C has to give 8 weeks warning for meetings, so can't do at WWW2006 - too late.

Birds of feather session at WWW2006?

ISWIK - public forum/

ISWC, I guess.

<vipul> ISWC

<vipul> yes!

<Tonya> Tonya must sign off to move to her next meeting

Roger suggests deliverables for next F2F.

this is a mechanism to make deadlines for deliveables.

Actions for last week?

from

Brian's in particular.

1 - Brian to do summary of task status.

<gilman> second was ROI

2 - Eric and Brian to do somethign on ROI.

ROI Wiki page is up.

<jluciano> I have to leave. Take care everyone!

<jluciano> +1 on Roger's comment about getting a better ROI.

<eneumann> http://esw.w3.org/topic/HCLSIG/ROI

David Martin re ROI???

<gilman> We have real numbers

<gilman> and we have an intrnal ROI calculation based on 4 assumptions to be named on the wiki

<gilman> yes that is correct

<scribe> ACTION: Eric Neuman contact David Martin and see if he's the guy with energy around ROI. [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/04/06-hcls-minutes.html#action06]

<gilman> we should assign roger to this work as well

<gilman> agreed

<gilman> text mining is a very small $$ expenditure

<gilman> We are doing that analysis

<gilman> brian waves hand high in air
