XRI is the only other example [of mechanisms supporting uniform access to metada] I'm aware of (it was ARK I was thinking of, I'm pretty sure), and I don't think you need to mention it.

I guess the point to be made is that there is a somewhat inchoate
requirement out there that goes beyond the one discussed in _The use
of Metadata in URIs_ [1], that people expect to navigate websites by
the obvious manipulation of URIs, to one which says that people should
be able to navigate from data to metadata (and back?) via systematic
and indeed universal maniulation of URIs. . .
